The Winky fight was closer than the Hopkins fights, someone needs to tell Hopkins if you dont do jack**** for 8 rounds and then fight for the last 4 rounds, you dont win.

I think it's really sad how everyone who said Taylor looked bad last night are also the ones who had him losing to Hopkins and Wright. Pathetic.

I recently did a poll on how many members thought Taylor got the correct decision in his last three fights. ISTR that around 70%+ of voters thought he had at least ONE gift decision in there.

Taylor's style is to back up and he tagged Ouma with some big shots, Ouma just has a good chin. Taylor tied up Ouma when he came inside so Ouma couldn't land.

How did Jermain look bad besides the usual bad balance?

Those are my exact scores for all of those fights as well.

Jermain Taylor looks sloppy at times and his defense looks a little open as well, but he gets it done with big power shots and combos that really sting. Against Ouma, I would have thought he would do better (especially with the size disparity), but pitching a virtual shutout against a very tough customer is not a bad night's work.

Put it this way, I was more impressed with this showing than with Calzaghe's win over Bika. And Joe better show up on form for Taylor, or he is going to have the same problems that Hopkins and Wright had with the young lion.

dont discredit Taylor after all he won the fight, even more credit to Kassim he has to have one of the greatest chins ever

I think to say that Ouma has one of the greatest chins ever is a bit of a misleading statement, but one that is true in a certain light. Ouma is not too hard to knock down. As a matter of fact, in two of his last five fights he's been dropped (and that was at 154). Roman dropped him when they fought and so did Rubio, so that says means that he can be put on his back. However, once Ouma adjusts to the power of the guy he is fighting he is virtually impossible to knock out. And that is why I didn't think that Taylor would KO him.

I can't beilive anyone would give Ouma more than 2 rounds. That's all he won IMO, and he barley won those rounds. Taylors punches landed clean. It was like that in every round. Taylor should have went to the body more often. He telegraphs the 1-2 combo down the middle. Taylor still has more to learn. Im sure he will look better in his next fight. No complains from me here. Taylor got a good victory. A win is a win.

It's not so much that Ouma WON the rounds, more that Taylor wasn't doing anything as the fight went on. You don't win rounds by throwing six punches in the final thirty seconds... as Tarver found out in the first Jones fight.
