Styles makes fights, Taylor won every round and did not use his jab in this fight at all, he also wanted to get a KO, which will never happen without using the jab first.

Taylor did what he had to do to win, Ouma is no Robin Reid, the same guy that was robbed against Calzaghe!
exactly. jackass can't score worth ****. if you have Ouma any more than 2 rounds, you have no business telling me Hopkins or Wright beat Taylor. the picture is all becoming clear now. and for a minute, I thought people were seriously scoring it for Wright and Hopkins. What a bunch of ****.

Who the **** are YOU calling "Jackass", you silly little boy?

I gave Ouma 2 rounds and three even ones.

If he's the one pressing for the entire three minutes and Taylor does **** ALL except back up and throw about half a dozen shots, I don't care if it's part of the plan, he's throwing the round away.

Maybe you can discuss this without using name calling? What a little punk *****.

Pantera, what do you think would happen with Taylor-Abraham? Cos no offence, but I suspect that Miranda can't take it terribly well.

Though I'd say either of them have a decent chance.

Based on last couple of showings, I would say that both Abraham and Miranda got a decent chance against taylor, they are both big, both can puinch and dont back down.

I respectfully disagree. I think the only way anyone could pick even one round to give to Ouma was to watch the round with this mindset: "Ok, let me watch Ouma and see if there's any way possible to justify giving him this round," which would be incorrect. If Ouma landed an important, telling punch last night, then I missed it.

Many make the mistake when scoring a fight of simply watching one guy go forward and one go back and are misled. Not one round went by without Ouma's head being cracked in several different directions by power combinations from Taylor. Yes, Taylor was crowded and clinched when he was pushed into the corner, but he was simply trying to maintain distance to punch. Ouma, particularly after a couple of rounds, was really just moving forward for the sake of crowding Taylor, and doing almost nothing, and if Ouma did happen to land, then Taylor responded immediately with twice the power and usually twice the punches. Ouma was moving forward and just clinching himself several times. The guy knows how to do one thing- move foward. He knew he had no chance on the outside and little on the inside, but at least on the inside he wasn't getting hit as badly. So he kept moving foward. And Taylor kept stepping back and cracking his head for him and then clinching when he got crowded and bulled into the ropes.

I really feel like Taylor is being crucified for no good reason. I think it's more about the notions most took INTO the fight. Most felt he should stop Ouma and it'd be an easy fight. Not sure why, unless you haven't seen Ouma before. Nothing about any of Ouma's fights would lead you to believe he'd be stopped or be an easy night for Taylor. The guy is relentless. Could Taylor have performed better, even though he won every round? Yes, of course. He gets off balance too much. He wastes power punches by not setting them up correctly. He wastes a lot of nervous energy early and wishes he hadn't towards the end. He's got room for improvement, everyone should agree. But to say that Ouma won several rounds last night, or that Taylor was terrible and was exposed, etc.... all that is just garbage. I'm sorry.

Taylor is going to be tough for anyone to beat, even Calzaghe. FOTY 2007. Too close for me to call, yet. I need to meditate on it. It's obvious it will happen, HBO was going out of their way to mention Joe every chance they got last night. And Taylor is not Hopkins. When he says he'll fight anyone, he means it. The guys level of competition over the past 4 fights is unmatched except by Pacman. That will be one of the few future "Legendary Nights" that this generation has, possibly.

That's okay, cos I didn't say ANY of those things.

                Good post otherwise.

Jermain would whoop that ass, Miranda got exposed against Abraham.

Taylor took what Hopkins had to give him, and Miranda is lucky to have that controversial stoppage against Eastman.

I think it's really sad how everyone who said Taylor looked bad last night are also the ones who had him losing to Hopkins and Wright. Pathetic.
