IMO DHL is more of a politican than a fighter, even if he is been beaten badly by Mayweather he would secure the judges the guy is one of the most powerful guy in boxing politis. before the whitaker fight he said that he is going to win because he is the younger and will bring more money. and in the Mayorga fight i feel there is something wrong with that fight when i seen a slow motion gif. Mayorga took Tito shots but couldnt take oscar's shot after comeback from retirment for longer thim than tito.

what in the world are you talking about?

If DLH is soooo powerful in boxing 'politics', how come he couldn't get earned decisions vs Tito and Mosley, which the majority of the boxing world felt he won?

He would easily dispose of Margarito and Hatton.
I dont think that would be so, remember the hopkins before the Trinidad fight? not many people liked him

Never really been PBF fan anyway...............On the other hand DLh has been one of my favorite fighters for many moons........so I will be rooting for DLH without question and I think he is going to KO Floyd too for the record.

I want De La Hoya to win this.

That way, there is NO WAY PBF retires.

I think it is fantastic to watch a man be able to land at will and barely be hit himself. I admitt, I will be disappointed for DHL if he looses since I am sure he plans to go out on top with a victory over PBF. It is such a hard choice because I like them both. That is why I have been looking forward to this fight so much.

I don't really think that everyone that chooses to root for DHL is just a PBF hater. That makes no sense since DHL has been around longer and is one of the most loved in the sport. Of course some people are just haters, but that is how it always is.

So...do you guys want your choice to win because you like them, or because you dislike the other guy that much?
i do not hate de la hoya at all. i respect the man's accomplishments in the sport of boxing. he is a class act, shows respect for his opponents, and his energy in the ring is fun to watch. i, however, never was a huge fan of his. he just wasn't my top of boxer to like. hey, that's not saying that the guy wasn't fantastic in the ring because he was, but floyd is just the top of fighter whose style is supposed to keep him unbeaten imo. i love his fighting style from his defense to his accuracy and amazing timing. this includes his speed and decent power as well. now, what i like most about his style is his counter shots, which he will do a lot against oscar. they are timed magnificantly and are a strong asset to his success in the ring. also, another reason why i love his style is because of how he trains and how long he trains. say what you want about the man, he is always prepared well for a fight. he doesn't bull**** in the gym, and i share those same values. yes, he comes from a fighting family which helps, but just lie he says a lot, they can't get in the ring and fight for him, and he trains so hard for all of his fights. he's always in tip-top shape and conditioned well. all of these attributes i love about floyd. he's a well rounded fighter. does he have a knock power like a mike tyson in his prime or a david tua or george foreman or ray leonard, or rocky marciano, or tommy hearns, no but he is a smart fighter, and that's his best trait, his mindset going into his fights, which i respect more than any other thing. he has extrememly quick reflexis and of course quick hands which also goes back to how he trains in the gym for a fight. he spars with junior middleweight fighters which is smart as well. i mean, the guy has everything it takes imo to be the best fighter of all time. this is why i root for him.

i don't care about his outside life. i don't root for that. i root for the fighter in the ring, not the fighter who hits his wife which if you ask me is irrelevant when it comes to boxing. the man's no angel but who are we to judge him for his outside ventures. he's not my role model outside the ring, but he is my favorite fighter inside the ring, because of his personality in the ring. i never heard him claim to be a role model, but i do understand that kids want to be like him, so i do understand the criticism he recieves for his actions knwoing that children look up to him, but nonetheless, it's still outside business. he's not perfect, by no means. he can be an *******. he is ****y(of course for good reason), he has disrespected legendary fighters. all of this has nothing to do with how he fights. i actually like to see him fight more when he is hated, because he feed of it and performs through it well. i don't care who boos or cheers him, when he fights, i know he focuses on the person in front of him. that's the only thing that matters. yes, he has said things to commentators and his opponents's trainers and has made faces at his opponent, but even doing all this, he is focused on the task at hand. and the fact thta he can fight well in the face adversity says a lot about his character as a fighter.

all of this is why i cheer for floyd mayweather jr, and i like i've said in the past and will say in the future as will floyd, he will defeat oscar de la hoya come may 5, 2007. there's no other way to look at it.

The thing I don't get is that DLH is an ******* himself. Behind the scenes, DLH and PBF are one and the same...

Look at Mayweather's resume, then look at Ali's, it doesn't compare...and don't give me some arguement that Ali had losses and Mayweather doesn't because Ali after his exile wasn't the same fighter, which makes it all the better in how he was able to win.
