Floyd's weakness is on the inside. He's good on the inside, but not great (he's not James Toney), and he gets hit. Burton, Castillo, and Chavez all did work on Mayweather when they got into his chest. Closing the distance is extremely difficult though, and Castillo - who has underrated boxing skills - is the only person who was able to do it consistently.

Burton and Chavez landed one to take what? 10?

Castillo is the best inside fighter in the game as of now. bar none. (and his skills are generally underrated as you point out)

so floyd is probably in the top5 inside fighters in the game right now. hard to call that a weakness.

Chavez and Burton did good work on the inside, they got pummeled in the middle of the ring, and got stung wth sharp counter punches on the inside. I don't think Mayweather has a "weakness" on the inside, I overstated it, I just think that's been shown to be the weakest part of his game....he's good inside, not great.

          Mayweather basically has two weaknesses:

          His hands.

His small frame (especially at higher weights)

i still think they were outlanded on the inside too.

but i agree with you: his inside game is not the best part of his game.

I think mayweather is literally great at midrange: the way he timed the faster judah from round 5 and on is one of the most beautiful pieces of boxing i have ever seen. He had an answer for every judah punch, feint, step. Standing in front of a faster, more powerful fighter and neutralizing him in that way is nothing short of amazing IMO.

Good post and I agree 100%

People say that the Judah fight was unimpressive. Which is absolutely mind-boggling.

Post round 3, is one of the best exhibitions of boxing that I have seen in the past few years.

Mayweather was not only beating, but PUNISHING a man who was faster than he was, bigger than he was, more atheletec than he was and stronger than he was by standing right in front of him dominating.

              That was beautiful to watch.

And people tend to forget that Zab Judah that night was by far and away the second best welterweight in the world. That was best Zab Judah that we had seen in a long time.
