That's because Calzaghe never fought anyone great. Sorry, an aging Eubank taking the fight on short notice and the clubbing Lacy (who struggled with Sheika) do not count as great fighters.

Hamed's opposition may not have been very special but he still had better accomplishments than Joe.

Lacy may not count as a great fighter but many certainly fancied him to beat Calzaghe! The bottom line is that Joe Calzaghe can still accomplish more.

So people either underrated Calzaghe or thought too much of Lacy. Big deal, it happens a lot.

Hamed still achieved more in a short time and beat better fighters than Calzaghe has.

Hamed may have the better accomplishments, but he could have fought a lot longer than he did. It was like once he got exposed it was all over for him. Even though i wasn't a big fan of his I would have liked to see him fight longer. He could have been in some very exciting fights and made the featherweight division even better.

all i have to say about this topic is that both fighters have/had the same promoter and frank warren is/was their match maker, enough said.....................

so they both have had the same up bringing fighting old champs past their prime or fighting young fighters that aren't ready for that level of play.

plain and simple frank warren tactics.......................... arguing about who has had the better resume is pointless because they basically have the same ****.

Still raw? He's 35 years old and has been fighting as a pro since 1994. He's not getting better technically or fundamentally. He is what he is.
