OK, the only ones we see in the pro ranks since the 50's are the defectors, but when you considers the majority of US fighters that make the Olympic team go on to being top class pros, & that almost all that get a medal end up winning a pro championship, the cubans are so far ahead of the rest of the world it's almost amusing.

Great Amatuers don't always equal great pros.

When talking about Cuba, is it really fair? I mean you have 25+ year olds going up against 17, 18, 19, year old Americans.

This is why I brought up Foreman: Foreman was only 19, Raw in the game of boxing, but beat the **** out of a Russian Veteran that was older then him, more schooled, for the Gold Medal.


You have to factor in the difference: the rounds are few compared to the Pros...like we have seen in history of Pro competition, not everyone can last the distance.

I agree, if black Americans really believe that they have it so bad, then move back to your families country of origin, I guarantee after two weeks of living in S Africa/Nigeria etc you will be screaming to come back to the Western world, and that goes for Black's living in the UK! You don't realise how easy you really have, as Col Blake said you seem intent on whinging just because you're black; I'm not racist but I do hate whingers!

If Ali really wanted to get rid of his slave name and connections; and really did hate the 'white' man then why didn't he do the same; because (bad grammar I know) after 2 weeks he would have also been screaming to go back to America - he knew he had it good in the USA!
