It'll be a big upset if Manfredo does win. I don't see that happening though. If it goes the distance Calzaghe wins, but i think that Calzaghe may stop him in the later rounds. It's a big step up for Manfredo.

Manfredo has a nice right hand. I think he will land it also. Unlike Lacy.. Lacy is one dimensional. Any boxer would beat a Lacy anytime of the day. It is a tough fight.. Very big step up. Knowing that Calzaghe will give you 110% of himself. That dude doesn't stop for ****.

Nice right hand, yes.. Enough to seriously trouble Calzaghe, i don't think so.

Peter Manfredo is undoubtedly a talented fighter, and i don't go along with some of the crap that gets posted labelling Manfredo a 'Reality TV' fighter due to his involvement in the the Contender series. He's a talented, young fighter who deserves respect based on what he is doing now, and what he is potentially capable of going on to achieve.
However, i think it's a case of too much too soon against Calzaghe.

IMO it's never too soon. You always gotta challenge the best to become the best. People might think they don't have what it takes to win but they really do. Alot of people thought that Hatton would murder Collazo.. Alot of people thought they were feeding Collazo to the big dogs to soon. Everyone was wrong. Just because a fighter doesn't have a high KO ratio doesn't mean they aren't dangerous.. Not every fighter is a puncher.. Alot of people also though that Manfredo would get his ass handed to him by hard hittin Scott Pemberton.. Even though the man was past his prime he could still hit. It's never to soon. All fighters want to do is get a chance to fight the best and become the best. I have confidence in Peter that he can win. All i know that he isn't no Jeff Lacy and Peter can box.

It's reached the point where every single thead about Jeff Lacy, or any other super middleweight for that matter: turns into a Calzaghe nuthugging appreciation thread. Let's not mention all the times people have to keep re-living the Calzaghe v.s. Lacy fight over and over.

I know it's the greatest victory in the history of Britain but whatever.
            LOL!........

Yes that's true, i'd also say you have to challenge the best, but of course it can be too soon. Fighters learn their trade.
I can understand why Manfredo has took the fight with Calzaghe because he wouldn't get another chance to do so again, and i do think he is a fighter with potential, but i think Calzaghe will be too good for him on the night.
