people like hating...there is nothign you can really do

calzaghe came in as a underdog vs lacy and thoroughly beat him. so How lacy

looked last night has nothing to do with calzaghes legacy. Yes Calzaghe doesnt

fight that many people and is always injured but he still is p4p in the top 10

      Agreed.

Omar gave Joe a good fight. unlike Lacy, Omar put on a good show. I'll watch this fight again, sometime.

Try going to some of the other international forums. If you think this is bad, you'll find something much worse there (personally i think it's just about right those places - if anything a bit too stuck up Joe's ass).

And Yes - You ARE a nuthugging brit - don't know about the phag thing.
Hate him or love him, they will continue to talk about him.

And no, I'm not a nuthugging Brit at all, seeing as my favourite fighter of all time is infact American and only ONE of my present favourite fighters are British, your words are void.

And I find it hilarious how YOU of all people - alongside jangeorg with the Calzaghe hating and Kessler **** riding - can call me a nuthugger, that's just ludacris.

What does it matter what armchair american boxing fans think of Calzaghe, anyway? 99% of them have never laced a boxing glove in their life. What the **** do they know? Its funny how Calzaghe is regarded highly by men like Hagler and Robinson-men who have been in the ring and know a good quality fighter when they see one. Opinion from great boxers like these are the ones that count. Not the ones from ignorant Yanks who cant see past the end of their own nose.

Scenario 1: Had Lacy performed poorly last night(which was what really happened)

Comment: "Calzaghe ain't **** because Lacy was an overrated one-dimentional piece of crap anyway".

Scenario 2: Had Lacy KTFO Tsypko

Comment: "Lacy had a bad night in Manchester and he would KTFO Calzaghe had Lacy been 100% like he did tonight"

And now with all these "Why the **** is he fighting Manfredo" talk? Calzaghe wants Jermaine Taylor and Hopkins but they have other plans at the moment. Give the guy some respect.

For christs sake - Lacy struggled with has-beeners like Sheika (who Beyer schooled!) and journeymen like Wiggins and many others before Calzaghe.

Lacy never met a decent fighter in his prime - and now that he did and (of course!) struggled the Calzaghe nuthuggers are saying.. "Oh, but .. that is .. because... Calzaghe destroyed him". No he didn't - in fact Lacy should get a lot of credit for just beating the best guy he has ever beat.

            Rubbish.

I am sure that although Manfredo will NEVER beat a top 15 SMW - the Calzaghe huggers will say when Manfredo losses to Veit, Markussen,Bute,Mundine or someone mediocre like that - "Oh, Calzaghe destroyed Manfredo's confidence" - otherwise Manfredo was a monester".

This protection of Calzaghe is totally taking overhand for a couple of people. Lacy is not and was never that good. Face it. I like Lacy and hope he can improve further, but he has always has huge gaping holes in his skills and they are still there. Manfredo is much worse though - and no, not because "Calzaghe destroyed him".

you say calzaghe can't catch a break?

his whole career has been nothing but catching breaks.

he has hand picked opponents. over and over again it's been proven and it's on his resume so you can't hide it, and it's been said over and over again because it's the truth.

Calzaghe has fought hand picked opponents, frank warren has been selecting guys for calzaghe that are either too old and have seen better days in the ring or he fights young guys that aren't ready for his caliber of fight, never anyone in their prime and never anyone who is really a honest threat other than a punchers chance, and that is in any fight regardless.

there are fights for calzaghe in and around his division and yet he wants to fight guys that aren't even ranked in the top ten. like manfredo, he's only ranked in one orginization the WBC and he's ranked 8th at supermiddle weight. manfredo isnt ranked in any other orginization at least not in their top ten.

i like calzaghe but it's starting to get seriously ridiculous. joe is like a ****star that only ****s fluffers, because that is what his resume looks like, nothing but fluff, opponents that are there to build his undefeated record, guys that haven't a chance at beating him.

and why not unify or move up or take one someone who is a worthy competitor. nothing against manfredo but i think that he is too young and inexperienced for a fight with calzaghe, manfredo needs a few moe world class fights under his belt before he goes against a fighter like joe. and i'm sure that'll be obvious once the fight takes place...........

calzaghe gets nothing but breaks, he is one of the most fortunate boxers alive. fortunate to never leave home for a fight and fortunate match making.
