i think boom boom needs 2-3 more fights before fighting for a chip. would the promoters be willing to wait to cash in on him? i dont think so.

Seriously, this guy is going to be huge. He has crushing power but also great balance and throws in combination. He doesn't move his head enough, but he turns over every punch great and is technically sound. This kid is serious, and at 20 he;s only going to get better.

he does not have pac's speed and relentless attacks but kid has good technical skills compared to pac. very steady and has good power.

Rey's really nice technically and can only get better. He definitely has power that reminds me of Cottos. He breaks you down after hitting you enough anywhere. I don't think he's ready for a world title yet, maybe 3 more fights at least, though he's showing maturity beyond his years. No need to rush the kid though because it would be a sad story in the end for a young hot prospect to get annhilated for being rushed early and wrecking him physically. This past fight didn't show much at all. The guy didn't engage him enough or show anything to test Bautista. He needs more fights that aren't so easy and that'll give a better gauge as to where he stands if he went up against the likes of Ponce De Leon or Vasquez.

what i like about boom boom is his calmness. he does not panic. he looks very much in conrl eventhough andrade looked like a drunken freak LOL!!!!

I just found out that he was ponce de leon #1 Mandatory. Could he take a couple more fights before he fights ponce? or is he obligated to face him next because hes the Mandatory?

i hope he takes more fights. ponce can wait. its too risky for him right now.
