Yeah, we will see. I generally look down on threads that make such ridiculous claims like this one though. No one can tell just how good Cotto is, but he's passed all of his tests so far. He's a damn good fighter, like I said, but to compare him to Trinidad, as untested as he is, is a slap in the face of the all time great welterweight Felix Trinidad.

Well hes fighting Urkal regardless. I dont want to look past that. What does Urkal bring ar Welter? Ive never seen him fight. I know he lost to Harris and Tzyu.

Cotto is the real deal. I said many times that he will only be better at welterweight. Beat an undefeated Quintana who everyone thought posed a threat. Was giving Cotto some problems in the early rounds.. Cotto got used to his stragety, switched to southpaw and boom. Great fight. Remember Cotto isn't a one dimensional fighter. He cuts the ring like no one else. If you noticed most of the damage Cotto did was by the ropes and some of damage while they where in the middle of the ring. Cotto applying alot of pressure on Quintana by the ropes and caught him with some good ass shots. I've said many times what did Quintana bring to this fight? As good of a boxer he is he lacked the expierience. Cotto will make some noise at 147 im sure of that. Coming to 147 fighting a slick southpaw in Carlos Quintana.. Just ran threw him once he adjusted.

Another similarity (at least in my eyes) is how both guys looked well adjusted to their first jump in weight. I personally thought that Trinidad looked better at 154 than at 147, and I think that Cotto will be better at 147 than he was at 140.

True though...Cotto still has his work cut out for him if he wants to compare to how great Trinidad was.
