Margarito was exposed today. Did you see all the clean shots Tony accumalated? Damn only if he didn't break his hands like he said. From what i've seen today Cotto would have KO'ed Tony.

You guys are forgetting somethnig when you say Cotto would beat Hatton.

Remember the Tszyu fight? Tszyu punches hard. A **** load of good that did him when he fought Hatton.

The trouble Hatton had with Collazo is handspeed and boxing ability. Yes, Collazo rocked Hatton. But Cotto isn't Collazo, and what you can see coming, you can smother.

Collazo is also a southpaw, Cotto is not (well, he can switch, but he generally isn't).

The fight would be close, less exciting than anticipated, and probably quite dirty. Hatton would come on early, Cotto starts sorta slow. In the middle rounds, Hatton would start to smother Cottos punches by staying VERY inside. Cotto works best at middle range - Hatton would take the fight deep in, headbutts, elbows, etc. Clinches when he wants to back out again. HAtton has good footwork as well, which would to an extent negate Cotto's ring generalship.

The middle rounds would favour Cotto, but not by alot. rounds 4 through 9 would be 4 -2 to Cotto, the first three going to HAtton.

Near the end of the fight, Hatton would come bakc on, and start landing hooks to the body. These rounds will be great, and they will be about even. IN the last round or the second last round, Hatton would get rocked badly, but live to get the UD nod from the judges.

      so rounds 1-3 hatton
rounds 4-9 4 for cotto 2 for hatton making it

      5-4

then the last three rounds 2 to hatton and one to Cotto.

      7-5

115-113, Ud hatton, close but clear.

It was such an active fight that we apparently didn't see a few things. I had Quintanna up 3 rounds to 1 going into the 5th.

However, taking a look at his face at the end of the 4th round I was surprised. Quintanna looked gaunt, and tired.

Rewatching. Cotto landed some unreal body shots in rounds 1-4. Granted, only 1 or 2 each round. But these weren't just hooks, these were shots with destructive intentions at full force. And they landed clean.

About 1 minute left to go in the 5th. Cotton landed a right hand to the Body and Quintanna was ready to fall. Quintanna grabs Cotto. They untie, then Cotto lands that left to the body. Cottos body work was just so destructive he accumulated the damage and we didn't really notice it.

One question. The left that put Quintanna down the first time. Actually hit him on the side and back. Is that a legal shot? (Is not punching in the back considered kidney punching?) Granted. Cotto was standing right in front of him, that's good skill to hit someone behind their arm and on their side and back, and hard enough to drop them.
Thats def legal that is where your liver is

Hell no........ for one hatton fought kosta at 2am in GB, it was kosta first fight in like 2and half years and had 100,000 drunk soccer fans against him plus he old.....Hatton smothered his puches but kosta's deadliest punch was his straight right and he didnt get a chance to land it at its strongest point.

Cotto would light up hatton like PBF did gatti.....hatton bruise and cuts way to easy and by round 6 his head would like his wisdom teeth were pulled

(quoted from earlier post) I told you Quintana wouldn't win you no nothing ******s.

But...and a big but....Mayweather would feast on Cotto all night, possibly stop him.

            Dillusional statement.

PBF only fights mediocre opponents or old, past it legends

Cotto landed some serious body shots, but alot of clean left hooks to the chin too which went almost unnoticed because of the way quintana was ducking down. I knew when he hit him with that 3 or 4 punch combination to the head in the 4th that this fight was over. quintana just ducked there and took em all clean

I learn a few things tonight. Cotto is a monster at 147.
Clottey would own margarito if it wasn't for the broken hand. I guest that Margarito will never rematch Clottey, and clottey will become the real most avoided 147 pounder.
Cotto will own both Margarito and the overhyped Hatton easily.

Cotto won very well. I think he may well have the tools to beat Hatton at 147, though Hatton would probably have stopped him at 140. they should avoid each other's weights like the plague now. Hatton would be best served by cleaning up at 140 like Tszyu and fighting Castillo, Witter, Torres, M'Baye etc. Urango is a live underdog in his forthcoming fight though, heavy handed southpaw. I see the fight going to a UD, Hatton winning by about 117-111 in a hard fight.

Quintana seems to have been overrated following a win over Julio and his body always looked like a ripe target for Cotto's bodyshots.

I'd like to see how Cotto would handle Collazo. I think Cotto would win, maybe even stop him, but Collazo would be a more formidable opponent than the untested one fight wonder Quintana.

Cotto would be too classy for the vastly overhyped Antonio Margarito. Probably beat Cintron as well in what would be a great fight. I think the important thing for Cotto would be to unify the division. Cotto would be tough for Floyd I reckon.
