Calzaghe's victory over Lacy looking HIGHLY OVERRATED right about now.

Calzaghe beat Lacy (a guy who lost to Vitali Tipsy)...NOTHING great.
Nah, props to Pac, really brave fellow taking on a guy who'd just been badly beaten against a boring no hoper.

i knew joe would win........lacy was green in comparison to joe,and stood no chance
all joe did was show the world that lacy is a one dimentional fighter and put on a perfect example of how to beat him........
now you are just bitter and twisted by it all
      thanks for the input.

you gotta realize, the Lacy fight in the eyes of many (especially Brits) is Calzaghes' BIGGEST WIN OF HIS LONG CARREER.

now that a unknown, not so good Vitaly Tipsy beat Lacy and outboxed him like that, DOES the Calzaghe victory seem so great? The answer is NO.

Very well benji.. IMHO i think you are underestimating Calzaghe because he is a PROVEN ducker and seems to avoid any fight with meaning.. and then chooses to fight substandard opposition thinking it will bring him cred.. when all it does .. except for his hardcore fans.. is make him look a fool for not being able to judge what a TOP fight is.. and to a lesser extent make him look a coward.. BUT.. Calzaghes talent is undeniable..He reminds of PBF in that he is blessed with all the gifts to make him a superstar.. But his choice of fights and lack of Charisma do not endear him to the general boxing fan... In short he talks the talk.. but does not walk the walk..

Like I said, the views of "British fight fans" are often put in their mouths by others, and not actually a reflection of what "British fight fans" say. You putting this in CAPITAL LETTERS does not change that fact.

Joe Calzaghe outclassed an overrated fighter... only Americans on here (including YOU) thought he was anything good.

And AGAIN... the Lacy that Joe Calzaghe beat was CLEARLY mentally stronger than the one who got "beat" last night.

calzaghe did his job and his job was to win..
the lacy fight got joe noticed and thats and thats what is important.
it dosnt matter that lacy was nothing but hype........
however i could try and counter your arguement by saying that lacy is now damaged goods after what joe did to him.........i mean thats a fair comment right?

                    It IS, actually.

Though it's just ironic that the person who made this thread was the one saying "Calf.aggy FEARS Lacy, doo!"

Except now it's all "british posters" who are saying that Lacy is the ****.

I mean, WTF? Are we supposed to have had the rug pulled out from under us or something? We said he was an overrated piece of crap BEFORE he fought Joe Blow... except then we were just "Brit f.ags who don't know boxing, LMAO, pwn!"
