Cotto made Torres seem better than he actually was in my opinion. If Cotto fought smart throughout the fight then he would of beaten down Torres easy. Remember Torres' only good moments in the fight was when Cotto decided to stand and trade with him.

Cotto is as good as he is ever going to be because his skills are limited by his talent. His performance against Torres is typical of what he has done in the past and what he will do in future. Torres, on the other hand, might improve if he got better training. He makes a few too many elementary mistakes which could be corrected easily.

He is the super lightweight champion afterall. He won fair and square. Malignaggi will be a champ soon enough too.

Yea I've always felt cotto could have trouble against a good boxer, which is why i think He will loose to Quintana.
That is what everyone said when he fought Paulie. I think the issue with Quintana is that he is a good boxer AND he is southpaw with some pop..

People set themselves up to be disappointed.

The way I see it Torres was able to fight his fight against Cotto, and still lost.

He could be in other great fights,it just has to be against somebody who cant/wont box him.

Cotto had to go in blind against Torres, nobody knew what he was about,Arnoutis had the benefit of knowin he had to box.

Cotto fought a weight drained superior boxer in Paulie and we saw how that worked out, MA punches harder than Paulie but Paulie is slicker, no wonder why MA's people never wanted to fight Paulie.
