how did floyd talk his way into the # 1 p4p spot

i remember not too long ago hopkins was # 1 then before i new it with out having any super fights floyd was in the spot .. i know hopkins got beat but there are other fighter that beat better fighters then floyds opposition..this is not a maywether hate thread.. but its obvious all floyds talk how hes the greatest got him the spot.... does he deserve it how is he going to retire with out fighting cotto, hatton , margorito , williams ,quintana... the only way i would respect him as a fighter who loves his craft would be if he beat del a hoya and then fight winky wright or taylor that way he could bypass all those names i just named..... on another note whos to say all this floyd sr, floyd junior beef.. ihasnt been planned for years to get a mega-fight
(bigger then a super fight) on sinco de mayo against the most popular fighter in the world who just happens to be mexican..

    A) Floyd just became undisputed at 147 up from 130, and has won the titles in each weight class in between.

    B) Have you seen the guy fight? There's what I like to call the "Common sense Element" your post seems to be ignoring

    C) You mention: Cotto, Margarito Hatton and Williams.

Two of those fighters were not ready to face him in Hatton and Cotto. Hatton stated so, Arum wouldn't have put Cotto in with Mayweather up to this point. Williams is too green, and Folyd just faced a more accomplished fighter in Baldomir than Margarito.

While you say your post isn't rooted in hate, it is in ignorance, and is a very minority opinion.

If, at the end of the day, you're suggesting Floyd isn't pound for pound #1, you'll find 90% of Fans and Media disagreeing with you.

Dumb post man. I think the only people that don't have him as P4P #1 are the people who have gone on a Floydcott after he threw an embarrassing 38 punches per round while running away like he was scared. But no way is his arrogance the reason why people think he's #1. It's all about skill, and his jump up in weight. Think about it. It's POUND for POUND.

He boxed his way into the all-time #1 lb4lb spot against Gatti, in terms of skill atleast.

I did fall asleep during his last fight, but he is right at the end of his career and three or four divisions up from where he started.

I wasn't disagreeing. He's definately #1 as much as I hate it. You just won't ever see me truly defend him in anything. He has enough people that do that for him no matter what he does.

Not the greatest of all-time, but in terms of skill I've not seen better.

I saw him against Baldy in his lasst fight and to me offensively he is not great. He has fast hands though. But where he was good is reflexes and avoid getting hit by body position and how he puts his arms. He is good but to me it only looks like a matter of time before he gets nailed and beat. He is just like a naseem hamed or RJJ and relies on his reflexes.

Every Boxer relies on reflexs and if you are saying that is his only reliance you are terribly mistaken. The difference between Floyd and Hamed/RJJ is that Floyd is a pure boxer nothing about him is Flash he does things text book in a throw back style. RJJ and Hamed relied on athleticisim for eveything and nothing was really text book they fought in away that relied entirely on athleticisim Floyd doesn't.
