the first mosley fight isn't really debatable.

he had 3 close/controverisal decisions go his way and 2 go the other way.

You're right. I was exaggerating a bit because I was stunned by Smokin's original claim that DLH was 'schooled' in his losses. Mosley may have beaten him, but no 'schooling' took place

          Back to topic.

Point being - If he had beat Trinidad, Mosley (the first time), it would have propelled him to unbelievable status. Mosley would have lost the inevitable rematch (Oscar would have had confidence from winning the first time).

He would be right up there with Sugar Ray Leonard, and Sugar Ray Robinson.

Now he is a HOF for sure, but he is not as good as those guys. I say that from the perspective of, he didn't win the super-mega fights he needed to.

Sugar Ray Leonard is a good example - He beat Marvelous, he beat Hearns, and Duran. All of which were exceptional fighters, Marvelous and Hearns had both never lost when they fought Sugar Ray, and Duran beat him the first time (plus Duran had over 100 wins, and against good opposition)

DLH had the same opportunity, Trinidad and Mosley were undefeated when they fought him and were in their primes. Best against best.

If DLH had one those fights he might have even been able to be considered the greatest of the modern era (if he stayed undefeated one could argue that he was even better than Sugar Ray Leanord, though I think Leanords competition was on the "great" level and tougher than DLHs)

          But that's all ifs now...

agree, except duran did lose one time before losing to ray, and duran (one of the g.o.a.t.) was better than mosley and also more accomplished at 147 prior to beating srl than mosely was prior to the first dlh fight.

duran whooped carlos palomino, who was definitely better than wilfredo rivera.

DLH has a heart of an old champ something boxing needs (to fight so many great boxers and move up in different wieght classes). These days all you see is guys fighting for money not for pride(he has both). What do you guys think if he pulled out the one of his best performace and wins his next two fights?

And I also said he has been protecting himself the past few YEARS...like the past 2 years he has done **** all.

Dude, he was schooled in his losses pretty bad. Won about 3 rounds against Sturm, knocked out by Hopkins (would of been KO3 or 4 but Hopkins took it easy), and Mosley won about 8-9 rounds. Basically beat DLH up more then anyone else has...and that was Mosley's first fight at 147. Ha..

                    Anyways....school was just in session.

Ummm...I'm pretty sure Duran moved from 135 straight to 147 to fight Ray Leonard...so that pretty much kills your logic even though were half sticking up for me..
