Hopkins: "I Won't Let Calzaghe Make History"

Calzaghe was always turning and getting in quick hits vs. Lacy. He had too much respect for Lacy's power to make an earnest attempt to take him out early. Against Hopkins, he would be hitting him with real punches, and a lot of them.

Cal was hitting Lacy with his best, if he had so much respect for Lacy's power then why did he say when he was in the corner "LACY'S POWER IS CRAP!"


This is gonna be just like Antonio Tarver Vs. Hopkins except Cal. is going to be Tarver.

Cal looked impressive over those guys but face it, those guys were nobodies.

This paragraph made me laugh. Tito and ODLH might've been moving up in weight but comared to.... Lacy? This makes me giggle.

I would love this match and be one of the few PPV's each year I buy but this would be a must. I'd favor Hopkins but hardly think it would be a walk in the park.

But Lacy hadnt really fought anyone. There arent many great boxers about so its hard to have fought anyone where you can be given respect. Joe had kicked a lot of yanks arses who wanted some of it.

I have to admit, Lacy was your typical overhyped KO artist. I mean, he struggled with Sheika and didn't want to give him a rematch. That has to tell you something...

Everyone downplays it because everyone thinks Hopkins won the first fight. Hopkins followed it up big, and Taylor followed with Wright in another fight where the majority of those watching live and on television thought Wright won.

Taylor won the ESPN polls son, guess what that was the larget poll for the fight.

Some people just forgot about the first 9 rounds that Taylor was winning, I guess you win the last 3 rounds and win a fight.

Like I said this over and over I just don't see how anyone can have Taylor losing the first fight and saying he won the second fight, it just doesn't make any sense at all.

The first fight was not a close fight like the second fight.

BTW Hopkins resume is much better then Calzaghe's. Hopkins last fight with Tarver was a bigger win in my opinion then any Cal wins.

Joe is a great boxer and didnt even lose as an amatuer. Well....i think he actually lost a controversial decision. Joe did beat around the bush too much with Tarver and should have fought him. He would have beaten him, but instead the crafty Hopkins jumps the queue and gets Tarver on his resume. Sneaky man.
