But those were actually close fights.

You can't compare them to some of the decisions that get ignored in the US.

For example, one judge thought Barrios beat Guzman, and another judge thought Rubio beat Kassim Ouma, and not to mention the fights like Oscar DLH/Trinidad, Oscar DLH/Sturm.

Britain can't even be compared to America when it comes to controversial decisions.

Yes, there are always bad decisions everywhere, but I'm saying that Hopkins would have had a disadvantage (in 2000, mind you) going to Manchester or Cardiff. If they fought next year in Britain, I would be fine with it, and I wouldn't say Hopkins is going to get robbed. The underlying point there was that in 2000, it would have been difficult to get the decision there.

Hopkins is going to lose if he keeps fighting. Age will catch up to the guy.

Never saw it, but what about that Damaen Kelly fight in Ireland earlier in the year, said to be the biggest robbery of the year?

That said, I think the thread "Why doesn't Sturm fight in the US? Is he worried he won't be able to rely on the hometown judges if he leaves Germany" was unintentionally hilarious.

Joe Calzaghe vs. Lacy. Lacy pwned his azz, but got robbed by the Limey homer judges.

A Lacy fan told me a while ago that it was a close fight, he'd given Jeff one round and scored 3 even rounds, shortly after a hole opened in the ground and swallowed him.

                  Such ******ity isn't tolerated.

                    .
Yeah I heard the Kelly fight was a bad one. He was well beaten in the rematch though.

That was the fist time I'd seen Joe; and it impressed the hell out of me. True, Lacy was green; but the way that Calzaghe took him apart, disected him before my very eyes, was one of the more masterful performances I've ever seen. Now, I feel bad that he's almost in his mid-thirties and has bad hands, apparently. Pound-for-pound, he's definetly in the Top 5, IMHO.

I'm glad Lacy has taken his time getting back in the ring; but the kid shouldn't wait too long. When a fighter gets humiliated like that, he needs some time for soul searching; but eventually needs to get back up on the horse...and take it at a relatively slow pace with some thoughtful match-making. Lacy can still be something; but his management better know what they're doing. If they don't, he may never pick himself up.
