The Taylor that "Won" the fights against Hopkins was pretty impressive, throwing huge combinations and landing on the chin at times.

Albeit he avoids punches from other big punchers...........he's been tagged. All he does is smile when someone lands flush man.

That's the sign that someone has a rock hard chin. Ala Hagler, Toney, etc.
Hopkins was actually pretty hurt from that first knockdown by Mercado...it was a perfectly placed right hand on the inside as I recall...Hopkins went down hurt and stunned...but when he got back up, he got his head back a little...he went down again shortly after but more so due to that fact that he was still a little on unsteady legs and Mercado somewhat bumped him while throwing a few punches

even with that, it was amazing that Hopkins escaped Mercado's home country with a draw after suffering two knockdowns

You will get a sound byte whether you agree or disagree with me and at the end of the day when you sit ringside, you know Bernard Hopkins will give a 'Bernard Hopkins' performance."

Great. Now the respect I had for him has been thoroughly dampened now that he's proven he's just another conceited douchebag that refers to himself in the third person. Now he's no better than James Toney.

Hopkins will do good, he still has the skill. And his work ethic is insane, thats why he will do fine even in his 40's.

              He's all wrong for Calzaghe.

Calzaghe can only win that fight on sheer workrate, at 168, or by possible KO at 175 (but he'd break his hand in the process).

I see Hopkins landing the lead right hand alnight long on Joe Blow, and out-foxing him badly.

Geoff, I agree with you there. Calzaghe is the type of fighter that unless Bernard was busy each round(which he usually isn't) he will have a very hard time beating. If Hopkins fights Calzaghe he better let his hands go or its going to be Hopkins/Taylor all over again for B-hop.
