Hopkins: I'm out of retirement!

he's only been dropped once and that was against Sergundo Mercado.
It was a flash knockdown, and he got right back up. You and I both saw him get tagged by Taylor with huge right hands. He's ultra cautious and that makes him even harder to beat now....next to impossible.
The Taylor that "Won" the fights against Hopkins was pretty impressive, throwing huge combinations and landing on the chin at times.
Albeit he avoids punches from other big punchers...........he's been tagged. All he does is smile when someone lands flush man.
That's the sign that someone has a rock hard chin. Ala Hagler, Toney, etc.
even with that, it was amazing that Hopkins escaped Mercado's home country with a draw after suffering two knockdownsComment

"Still got the fire, still got the legs," ring legend Bernard Hopkins told *********.com. "I'm out of retirement, this is the first announcement. Bernard Hopkins is out of retirement. Bernard Hopkins is going to fight until he can't fight no more. Bernard Hopkins has a good three to four years of boxing to give the world what they need. Boxing right now needs Bernard Hopkins. Boxing needs the personality of Bernard Hopkins, boxing don't need me per say as an athlete but they need my personality. No one in the world does an interview like Bernard Hopkins, no one holds it down like Bernard Hopkins. Love me or hate me. You will get a sound byte whether you agree or disagree with me and at the end of the day when you sit ringside, you know Bernard Hopkins will give a 'Bernard Hopkins' performance."
Great. Now the respect I had for him has been thoroughly dampened now that he's proven he's just another conceited douchebag that refers to himself in the third person. Now he's no better than James Toney.Comment

Calzaghe can only win that fight on sheer workrate, at 168, or by possible KO at 175 (but he'd break his hand in the process).
I see Hopkins landing the lead right hand alnight long on Joe Blow, and out-foxing him badly.Comment

Geoff, I agree with you there. Calzaghe is the type of fighter that unless Bernard was busy each round(which he usually isn't) he will have a very hard time beating. If Hopkins fights Calzaghe he better let his hands go or its going to be Hopkins/Taylor all over again for B-hop.Comment
