It's been said that if the experiment proves succesfull, Ali G will permanently replace the worn out veteran Larry Merchant.

i remember a while ago a fight was gonna be shown on HBO, and one of the fighters requested that MERCHANT wasnt there for the fight because hes insulting. SO HBO turned down the fight so they could keep Merchant with the crew. or something like that...
