    Peter Manfredo Jr.

Do you guys feel he is sometimes unfairly hated on by boxing fans (especially here) simply BECAUSE he was on Contender?

I think he is. Now training with Freddie Roach, you cant not be impressed by the improvements he's made. It's like people wanna discredit him because he was on the TV show...as if anyone who was brought up in the Contender could never...contend.

I think Manfredo is the underdog, but I don't think it'll be as easy as everyone else seems to think.

Yeah for some reason ppl do hate on him for fighting on the contender but the thing is, if any fighter out there who is not well known is given the chance to fight on the contender they would in a heart beat. Good for him I say, he's getting some good exposure and who knows, maby an upset in this fight isn't impossible. Best of luck Peter.

I agree. Mora and Manfredo don't get enough credit.

they are both great guys, and pretty good boxers.

I guess The Contender is a double edge sword. You go on it, it jump starts your career and gives you a name, as soon as you have a big name, people criticize you for being on a soap opera to gain stardom.

With all this said, Manfredo vs. Calzaghe is a big mismatch.

I watch Vanes and Manfredo sparr and he couldnt take on Vanes now much less JC.

Manfredo jr. was on the up and up well before the Contender. he was already on the brink to get national attention, the Contender just expedited the attention. but from people who didn't know Manfredo from before they're nothing but naysayers and like to discredit him because thats all they know.

anyone who has known about Mnafredo knows that he is a decent fighter and top contender(in real life).

Manfredo was chuggin along at a great pace before the contender show. The show actually hurt his career in a way. he lost. had he not fought on that show he might be further along in his career right now.

I think that it is a little early for a title shot, but if he was going to find Roach anyway it would have been better for him if he had not done the show.

If Cal. loses his fight against Manfredo he deserves to die. Manfredo isn't good at all.

Well you must have never seen him fight. Saying he is no good at all has to be the dumbest post I've read 2day.
It tells me 2 things either you don't know **** about boxing, or your a nuthugger of one fighter and compare everybody to that fighter

U THINK based on their sparring that Manfredo cant beat Vanes????? Seriously, at this point Vanes isnt in Manfredo's league. U put too much into sparring
