I'm really glad this fight is happening and showing on HBO; I haven't seen Joe Calzaghe fight live yet. Also, I would hate to be Manfredo fighting so far away from home and in perhaps one of most hostile evironments in boxing today(Wales).

I agree, it's pretty harsh when you're a Calzaghe opponent in the Millenium, but Manfredo also has a big fan base amongst my friends.. a few even saying he'll beat Calzaghe, so who knows until the night of the fight, he might have more fans than we think.

Manfredo's workrate is real bad, did you see the two sergio fights?

        He's tired after 4..

WAIT!!! STOP THE PRESSES!! I got my "contenders" confused. I was thinking of Sergio Mora.

Well anyway, my interpretation of Lacy was that he was just looking/and expecting to take Calzaghe's head off with one shot, where Manfredo knows he can't do that.

Also, the activtiy of Mora was too much for Manfredo and Calzaghe showed he could punch all night against Lacey..so, Peter's gonna lose by virtual whitewash, IMO.

The part where Lacy went wrong was (inexplicably) having NO jab whatsoever. How he could go into the fight of his life and not bring a jab is beyond me. He threw maybe 5 in the whole fight.

Manfredo has a good jab and his right hand is improved. He may make it interesting, but he's not on Joe's level.

He's not even really a top ten Supermiddlweight.

I haven't seen Calzaghe enough to call this one but I hear that he always takes his opponent very seriously and trains like a madman. Also you have to give Manfredo alittle credit for taking this fight in Joe's backyard and after what he did to Lacy. I hope this fight is entertaining.

Yeah....I realized my error as soon as I started thinking about Calzaghe's workrate and Mora's.

                  How embarrasing.

I give Manfredo more credit right now than all of the other Contenders for his step up in competition, which is pretty much zero to hero.. Calzaghe trains hard always, he has to or he won't make the weight limit.. but he trained alot harder for Lacy than any of the other fights as far as I know.

...And I don't think this will be the blowout as many on this forum are predicting. Manfredo looked extremely sharp in his last fight albeit against a club fighter in Spina and is training with world class trainer Freddie Roach.
