    Ruiz vs. Holyfield II fight

I rewatched this fight tonight and must say it was quite action packed. Ruiz was close to stopping Holyfield in the 11th round and the rest of the fight, although a bit rough, had many good moments. Did anyone here score that fight? I don't think I had watched this since it happened in 2001 and this was the first time I scored it round by round. I ended up with a 114-112 victory for Ruiz. Did anyone here enjoy this fight?

I remember having Ruiz winning the first fight, and Holyfield winning the second and third fights.

I thought the third was the best of the three.

I remember Big George getting mad at Merchant for calling it a boring fight.

One of the most random threads ever, but I would like to see some highlights from these fights, I never saw a second of any of them.

My memory is a bit shaky but I believe the second fight was the one where Ruiz was knocked down with a CLEAR AS DAY body shot and was granted 5 minutes to recover from what would have been a KO, he was clearly not getting up in 10 seconds.

I could be wrong about which fight it was (almost positive it was the 2nd) but what I am sure of is that Holy should have been awarded a KO victory over Johhny Luis.

The shot was in the lower abdomen but it was below the waistline so, although not really a low blow, it was below the border and Ruiz sold it well.

II is the only one of the series I didn't see...figures, looked like the best one.

The first fight ****** to high heaven and they robbed Ruiz blind. Holyfield looked like crap. The third fight wasn't much better; but I think the decision was probably right, although Ruiz could have got the "W".

Holy didn't deserve a win in any of those fights as he looked all of his 40 something years old. Hell, you'd a thought he was 50+ if you didn't know better.

                  Lousy series.

I thought the third fight was very slow and boring while the second one was good. I never saw the first one, just highlights.
