He didn't even start sparring until a couple of months before he turned 17, and turned pro a couple months after he turned 19. His amateur career lasted about 12 months, probably less, and in that time he won the Spanish Golden Gloves and got to the semi-final of the New York Golden Gloves, which is quite amazing.

Like Eubank saying how he was "beating open-class guys in their 20's while a 17-year-old novice to boxing" in an interview in the late 80's. I guess Eubank's losses came against older and more experienced guys.Comment

Calzaghe hasn't lost since he was 17 years old, and even then it was a robbery.
