Pacquiao weighed 144 pounds on day of fight

    pectPACular! - Pacquiao Annihilates Morales!

19.11.06 - By Onur Tezucar: In a fight similiar to Hearns vs. Hagler's three round war, Manny Pacquiao (43-3-2, 34 KO's) registered a spectacular third round knock out of Erik Morales (48-5, 34 KO's) on Saturday night at the Thomas & Mack Center, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Pacquiao, dare I say, looked bigger, faster, stronger, and more technically sound than ever before. Coming into the fight weighing 144 Lbs, I repeat 144 Lbs! To weigh 144 lbs. the day of 130 lbs Junior Lightweight Bout, typically is a sign of sluggish hand speed decline; obviously, not the case here. Pacquiao exhibited faster hands, while looking and ****ing like a true Welterweight.

    ----------------------------------

Maybe, Paquiao could move up a division and succeed there as well, considering he started as a 106 pound guy.

How many more divisions does Pacquiao have to go up? The dude started at 106, he's only like 5'6" he can't go up anymore.

Silvester Stallone suggested Pac go up to heavyweight and added he'll surely be heavyweight champion of the world.

      He was joking of course.

Pac still has some business at 130 to keep him gainfully occupied in the next couple of years or so. There's MABarrera, Valero, Guzman, Humberto Sotto, Juarez... the only issues are Arum and Oscar. Here's hoping they won't deprive fans of any of these possibilities.

For the unofficial weight for Fight Night, did Pac wear his shoes and trunks again?

Macau as site for Pac-Valero is more and more becoming attractive and not only because Valero is not licensed to fight on US territory.

With the possibility of a court case between Golden Boy and Top Rank looming large in connection with the promotional rights to Pacquiao, Valero as Pacquiao's next opponent may prove to be the best option. Macau, which is in the People's Republic of China, is outside the jurisdiction of American courts. Both Pacquiao and Valero are not US citizens. Lawyers can look deep into the possibility of holding the fight there even prior to the resolution of the court dispute.

Oh well, it's just a thought.

Guzman/Pacquiao is a better deal, IMO.

There's that too, yes. But a Macau site may not resonate well with Guzman's camp; they may want the meeting to be on US soil, looking out as they clearly are (and should) to build Joan a US following.

Valero may be the only one with some kind of distinction that shall be interested in Macau.

But with those said, I hope that the contractual dispute that's being bandied around can be resolved quickly so that fans may not be deprived of the exciting match ups that many like very much to see down the road.
