I don't see Pac fighting either Barrera or Valero. Valero would be making a dumb move by taking a step from C class to A class in one leap. It could have disastrous results for him. MAB should want no part of Pac. I can't see why MAB would be confident at all in a fight with Pac.

Then again, there are only so many guys to fght at 130. From that perspective, it may be likely that Pac will fight one of these guys next. If they agree to fight him that is. Barrios may also be a top option.

No one really knows right now. Patience, daniel-san.

Sheer numbers of chinese alone guarantees to fill the venue to the rafters and I'm sure arum can work out the marketing of the PPV. You are correct japanese fight fans are moneyed and can go to china in their 2 days salary so what you said is a possibility. Reminds me of valero's manager who gives him an incentive of is it 1 million yen if he knocks his opponent out in the first round.
I've heard of the incentive. Yeah, that was something.

The Japanese are encouraged to travel abroad. It's in their books. Something like one gets a form of tax benefit if one travels. Macau is going to be as good as any other ideas they may have for travel plans. With the Las Vegas glitz and culture sort of grafted there, the Japanese shall find it even more attractive. And, of course, Pac-Valero, if it happens there.

That Arum, yes, is a character. Every time I hear or read his name, I am quickly reminded of his reply when confronted by an obvious conflict in his announcements: "I was lying yesterday, I am not lying now."

One really knows not when he's lying, does one really?

Chop that one up to Arum who got a big one against his boy Oscar.

I was reading a article today on another site where Arum said that he wants to have a "Macau Madness" fight where he wants Pac to make his 1st defense in March against Valero. Its the perfect place since Valero cant fight in the US. You talking about a big time fight? Peep This:

But Arum, who has struck the latest salvo in boxing's cold war, is proceeding with his business. He plans on having some 'Macau Madness' in March by having Pacquiao make his next defense in that exotic setting versus, "The kid from Venezuela who can't fight here in the United States. How's that for a little present?"

Yes, Arum would be referring to none other than internet cult legend, Edwin Valero, who captured the WBA 130-pound belt over the summer. It's a risky fight, a high-risk proposition for a fighter whose stock has never been higher. But how refreshing is it to not hear, 'Well, who's he? Nobody knows him. He's not a ticket seller.' This is a fighter who takes on all-comers. And one who can actually sell tickets and entertain the paying public.

We were the first to break the news on it, and Arum announces it on the post-fight video press conference. Four-year deal.

OK, you're always knowledgable so tell me if my theory holds water:

Arum and GBP will not come to terms for the Barrera-Pac II fight so the fight will go to a purse bid (I doubt Manny will not want the Barrera fight or the title he holds since he's the mandatory). This means that under the WBC rules, Barrera would get 75% of the highest bid while Manny will only get 25%. Pac might end up making much less than he did against Morales and GBP might end up winning the bid. If GB does win the bid, it might be bad for Pac as he'd get the **** end of the stick.

The Valero fight doesn't make sense yet since he's too high risk/low reward.
