Everyone bashed Frietas for quitting against Diego Corrales. Calling him a coward and other harsh names.
Now with Morales it's different, everyone takes it as being ok because he was/is a finished fighter.
I can't begin to tell you how many mixed emotions I have for Erik Morales right now. To see someone that you almost idolize for being that guy who was never afraid or never took no for an answer sitting on the canvas knowing that it's all over and not trying to rise is a hard thing to swallow for a true Terrible fan.
I know I'm supposed to appreciate all the great fights that Erik was in, and I do very much, but the guy that fought Manny Pacquaio on saturday was not Erik Morales. To be honest, I hate that guy who fought on saturday. For telling us to believe in him one last time, and I did, for sitting on the canvas giving up, even though I can't blame him, it's just a hard thing to swallow.
I'll forever be an Erik Morales fan, I just can't help but cringe at what I saw on saturday.
