I honestly thought the assessment was a bit harsh; but true...so no arguement.

I see no shame in the way Erik ended the fight. It was the same as Tszyu against Hatton and Arguello against Pryor in the rematch. It's when you know that they know that it's over; not just the fight, their time on top. It's that momemtn when they are staring into the face of a younger, hungrier opponent and they realized that they can't win, that the spark is gone. Every engine, if you take care of it, will give you so many miles; but eventually, all cars break down. You can rebuild the engine sometimes; but it will never be "new" again.

Morales's odometer finally tripped over this weekend.....and Pacquiao's just getting broken in.

I'm with u there. The article was true, but harsh. You can't blame him though, he's given us plenty of good fights.

He really needs to though. Once you don't "want it" anymore, you really stand a chance of damaging your legacy and getting hurt.

As Kaynan said, he's done enough....more than enough for boxing and the fans. His name is written in the Great Book of Boxing Lore. All things must come to an end; and Pacquiao gave him the keys to the exit of his career Saturday night. Let him ride off into the sunset, I say. He'll be remembered with the greats.

the dude enters the ring lookin like a starving bird, obviously his time has past, and through all he's done thats how you choose to send em off ??

lol I'm tellin you, I really think people dont like to see a Mexican be succesful from the get go, cause when the Mexicans time is up they're quick to bask in it. lol It's like white foos who use to ***** and moan about a super athlete for dancing in the end zone after a sicc ass TD or some ****..

The man who turned southpaw to go toe-to-toe with Pacquiao in the final round of their first bout would show no such bravado in the rubber match

yeah he turned southpaw in the last part of that match, and yeah he wouldnt switch back cause he was a stubborn brawler...and yeah he walked right through manny's best that night. that was a gruesome fight and eric held it down, now this guy wants to throw it in his face cause he couldnt do it saturday night? lol giiiiiiiiiit the **** outa here, morales has done more than enough. not to mention he looked like a starving bird on saturday and last time I checked morales is a human fighter that had already shown signs of a fighter slowly goin past his prime, and this fat ass with a pencil (who couldnt hold erics nuts witha fork lift) wants to sandbag eric and throw in some cheap shots?

only time you can legitmately sandbag a fighter is if your a fighter yourself. cause holdin a pen for a living while criticizing what other grown men who do in physical sports is technically a females job, and that itself restricts you from talking, let alone voicing any kind of oppinion when men are in the room lol..

the writer is not even pinoy so shut the **** up, youre a shame to mexicans who are very much an honorable race.

on a serious note, i see a lot of pinoys now watching replays feel sorry for erik morales. many fans have had a following on morales prior to the trilogy and despite the very festive atmosphere, many feel utmost pity to an idol to them.

yes many wishes that manny would knock morales out but no one really expected that he would quit. from a pacman fan, it would be a great reason for taunting, but no, it would be wrong.

I see alot of things changing around here.

Everyone bashed Frietas for quitting against Diego Corrales. Calling him a coward and other harsh names.
Now with Morales it's different, everyone takes it as being ok because he was/is a finished fighter.

I can't begin to tell you how many mixed emotions I have for Erik Morales right now. To see someone that you almost idolize for being that guy who was never afraid or never took no for an answer sitting on the canvas knowing that it's all over and not trying to rise is a hard thing to swallow for a true Terrible fan.

I know I'm supposed to appreciate all the great fights that Erik was in, and I do very much, but the guy that fought Manny Pacquaio on saturday was not Erik Morales. To be honest, I hate that guy who fought on saturday. For telling us to believe in him one last time, and I did, for sitting on the canvas giving up, even though I can't blame him, it's just a hard thing to swallow.

I'll forever be an Erik Morales fan, I just can't help but cringe at what I saw on saturday.
