My favorite boxing movies ever are Gladiator with Cuba Gooding Jr and Penitentiary 1 and 2.

Tubi the app has all 3 films and I highly recommend them. Also in Gladiator John Seda was a silver gloves amatuer back on the east coast. He can actually fight.

Gladiator, now that's a blast from the past. Being from Chicago and loving boxing, I was obsessed with that movie when I was a kid. Brian Dennehy plays a great villain in that one. Good mention!

Minus a few spots in Rocky 1 (because of film date and not as advanced technology)... it's actually very good.

First movie the "Steady Cam" was used in.

The set up is kind of funny though. But it’s so drawn out and by the time you get to the actual boxing, you don’t even care. And I love Woody. But yeah that movie was hard to stomach. The boxing that we did get to see was just cringe. It’s essentially a road trip to Vegas. With a quick boxing scene at the end. That’s really what it was.

I think the funniest boxing movie is The Great White Hype and it’s probably the most realistic look at the behind the scenes workings of boxing in general.
