I haven´t heard any interviews with Kessler over the past two and a half years, where he didn´t mention Calzaghe as his dreamfight. It would be all up to Calzaghe, and how could he say no to this unification fight? The fight has to happen.
Has Calzaghe stated anywhere that he wants to fight the winner of Beyer/Kessler?
I think you'll find that mr Calzaghe wants about as much to do with Kessler as you and i do to AIDS
Still think it won't happen, theres a gravy train a-runnin, why jump off it? Lacy lost to calzaghe, now people are saying if he loses to Tarver his career is over? with that sort of pressure who wants to take that risk? Tarver lost to hopkins and they are saying he has to beat Lacy or he will be finished?
Besides it isnt up to Kessler and calzaghe, I know a couple of boxers, albeit not on that level, and their attitude is 'i'll fight anyone'. the problem is when managers 'protect' them, and money men want a long term return on their investment. Kessler vs Calzaghe will not happen as long as both of them can be fed a steady ****** of 'up and comers' - like owen beck was fed to valuev, but thats another story.
Thx for all the comments tho its been informative reading
calzaghe would dominate kessler. the fight doesnt even need to happen. everyone should just call joe up and say," i know i cant beat you so i will put my belt in the mail so you can just have it. its yours anyways."
