    Just my 2 cents.
    Good 2 Cents!

Personally, I think nationality has very little to do with it, it's all about what's on the inside of a man that drives him to be Great. Of course the U.S is going to have more great fighters because the overall population of the U.S. is greater than the U.K.....that's a pure and simple law of ratio's.

Hunger is the key; and that means any fighter from any background has a chance to be great. It's just a matter of having the right amount of desire within to be so....and having the dedication to put one's self in that situation....along with the proper number of "lucky breaks"...meaning, the right person seeing him fight.

And of course there's the matter of great trainers; but once again, that's a ratio issue.

The key point I was trying to make is many of the british boxers have outclassed and convincingly beat the best in the world at many levels, yet dont get the recognition they deserve.

The world ranking system is American Biased, and always has been.

Granted there have been great fighters from other nations, Mexico inparticular (who in my opinion produce some of the most exciting fighters to this sport), but they may aswell be American because the majority of them fight out of America, and were probably border runners before they turned to boxing.

Its long overdue that the great british boxers, and some current ones like calzaghe and hatton, be recognised as true world all time great boxers.

It just annoys me that a bum like Jeff Lacy, can be considered even equal in ability to Calzaghe. Who has Jeff Lacy fought were he has shown us what he was promised to be? No one thats who, just more American Bums.

And Mayweather also. He has been getting all the usual American hype. Again, he has fought mainly American bums, with the occassional win against a crowd puller, but not a contender and he is considered better than Hatton?
All mayweather has got is speed and technical ability.
Hatton has heart, overwhelming punching power, speed, ability, and probably the toughest chin in the world.
Hatton beat the best in the world, and didnt just beat him. He battered him so badly that Tzu was so beaten up, he couldnt get out for the last round. Tzu was spitting blood for days after.
Mark my word, if Hatton vs Mayweather ever happens, Mayweather can kiss his boxing career good bye because Hatton will cabbage him.

Who's biased, here?? LOL!!!! My friend, I do indeed think that Ricky Hatton is the best candidate for beating Mayweather and acknowledge that I underestimated Calzaghe, who is one of the best p4p fighters in the world; but generalizing Lacy's opponents as "bums" as well as Lacy, himself, is a bit extreme...and detrimental to Calzaghe's reputation. If Lacy is a "bum" as you've called him, then what makes Joe's pasting of him so special??

No, Lacy is no bum, he was merely an overhyped kid who hasn't perfected his craft yet.

Good to see you've got such national pride, though.

You cant just go on population size...tradition plays a big part aswell look at india and China..thats half the world right there.how many champs have come from there....Britain has had many class fighters for a small population....Britain has a great tradition for fighters..but it cant compare to America..

Jeff Lacy was a media creation fed fighters that they knew he could beat. Step up the competition and he was destined to fail. You cant believce all of the hype that you hear from the different medias for the end result is one simple thing. How much interest and more so how much money can they make by building him up with the record and the press. Its all about the money man.

Look, let's be honest here. The States has produced much better fighters: Ali, Frazier, Foreman, Louis, Marciano, Holmes, Tyson. UK can't touch that list. As far as bringing Henry Cooper up against Ali, I mean come on, the first one MIGHT be controversial, but who won the rematch?
