  • Dereck Chisora vs Malik Scott Fight report with over 20 Press Scores

Hi guys my fight report is up on my fightscorecollector site...... http://fightscorecollector.blogspot.com if you fancy a read or want a look on how the press had the fight at the time of stoppage.

What did you all think of the fight?? i thought it went as planned, i picked Chisora by KO in 8 but expected Scott to win the early rounds before Chisora came on strong late. I have always questioned why its taken Scott all these years to finally step up and fight somebody who is in the top 15-20 in the rankings.

The referee is getting the blame by some but why did Scott wait till 9 to stand up AND do you think he look that bothered when the fight was called off??

cheers and thanks for any comments on the article

Malik should have got up sooner, what was the point in cutting it so close when he seemed fine....

Glad to see Del Boy back in the W column though

I had Delboy up. The 1st I thought they traded good body work but Malik missed with almost all his upstairs shots and what Chisora threw got through and stunned Malik. So I gave Chisora the 1st.

Rounds 2 and 5 were easy to score, they were clear Scott rounds.

The rest I gave Chisora because of the body work and neither fighter landed much else clean. The 6th was going to be a 10-8 to chisora. So I had it 48-47 Chisora and it would have been 58-55 Chisora had Scott gotten up - a big hole to get out of.

I can see why people might give Malik more rounds than I did. Chisora's rounds weren't as clearly won as the 2 Scott rounds.

              R.1 - Chisora (close)
              R.2 - Scott (close)
              R.3 - Even
              R.4 - Chisora (close)
              R.5 - Scott
              R.6 - Chisora (10-8)

Looking at other people's scores I'm convinced body-shots don't get their due when scoring fights.

Very disappointing end with Scott clearly able to continue but making a real mess of judging the count....

......but the rules are the rules and the Ref would have faced an equally big fuss if he'd allowed Scott to carry on fighting having completed the count.

I think Chisora looked good in spells and deserves some credit for taking on a decent, live opponent to break that losing streak. But I am not convinced that he can get to the very top of the pile.

Chisora blasted Scott with a slick elbow to the temple. There's about 4 angles of the knockdown, but you have to see the right one, and look closely. Chisora throws the punch to mask it, then does a lightning quick hard follow through so the point of his elbow catches him in the head. Chisora did it in a crafty way so he could say that was just a follow through and not intentional . Scott was probably too dazed by the blow to complain to the ref.

They should order a rematch on this one.
