  • Gavin vs Vassel wheres the hype on this forum?

I'm well excited about this fight, but have barely seen anyone talking about it here! Two good fighters vying to move on to the next stage in their careers, styles which both seem to be perfect to offset the others strengths...

Who have we all got and HOW?

Gavin to me is a good technical boxer who is there to be outmuscled and bullied, traits that Vassel has in abundance. Vassel is rugged, strong and has excellent conditioning, some boxing skill to go with it too, but is there to be outboxed by a guy with good skills, traits that Gavin has.

I personally think Gavin will win by decision. Word is he has a strength and consditioning coach for this fight, something i think he has needed for a while, which could help him deal with Vassels physicality. I would not rule out a vassel points or even ko win as he is a very underrated fighter.

Made a RBR thread for this and I agree, this should have more hype behind it. Its a great match up stylistically between two unbeatens and the winner is sure to explode onto the world scene.

Going with Vassell for the upset though I am out tonight and will miss it.

Didn't see the rbr will find it soon.

Can definitely see vassell winning even if i haven't picked him. He's a very good pro fighter where Gavin can appear amateurish at times.

Think this is the proverbial 'acid test' for Gavin.....

....Denton is the first guy with the punching power, fitness, physicality and confidence to take FG right out of his comfort zone and find out whether he has got the skill-set and heart to cope with another contender.

Denton has been Commonwealth belt 'limbo land' for a while and must know this is his breakthrough fight...so I am expecting him to really come out and have a proper go. He'll be pumped and focussed.

If pushed, I think Gavin wins it. He's added some extra bite to his punches, seems to have finally settled on a trainer and just seems to have that little edge in hand speed, ability to find his timing quickly and sharper movement which separates the 'good' from the 'excellent.'

Top fight and a Vassel upset win is not that far-fetched.

Another good performance from Butler, I love his body shots, I predict him to be a future world champ.

Was getting better but i felt like Gavin had reestablished control after few dodgy rounds in the middle. Would have been interesting to see how his conditioning held up though
