  • George Groves Bout

Does anyone have a link to last nights fight against Sierra?

I tried looking on Youtube but it's just links to live streams.

    Thank you

Very impressed, he should vacate the British title and fight the Abraham Stillez winner.

No point wasting time fighting Anderson again

          I was impressed with Groves.

I had some worries about the fight as Sierra is a very dangerous fighter but he won in fashion. Had him winning every round and although he took some, he gave more back.

His skin is definitely a concern and I hope it doesn't hold him back at the highest level. He should be back out again before the end of the year with a rematch against Anderson. After which I'd like to see him fight a few more gatekeepers before pursuing a world title. However, if the oppurtunity for a world title presents itself - he should take it. He's young enough to recover from a defeat and he proved last night he does have the ability to go all the way.

Apologies for slacking with my blogs, been away this weekend and was busy with work in the week. Got some free time tomorrow so will round up my current blog and begin another.

He's not going to get a shot a Ward who's on a different financial level.

He might get offered the Froch spot in November but it's looking like Oosthuizen will get that.

I'd say they'll keep him away from Pavlik as he'll continue getting easyish bouts til he gets another title shot (Pavlik not Groves).

And the Dirrell brothers are too much risk for too little reward (from a business viewpoint).

So maybe the winner of Abraham Stieglitz is the best option.

Groves was scheduled to fight Stieglitz for the belt and after he pulled out and Abraham replaced him - the Armenian/German expressed his interest in facing Groves.

Which I think is a little too early at the moment and for the next 12 months or so. I think it would be a good idea to fight the loser of Stieglitz-Abraham and then go for the winner afterwards.

              Sartison > Stieglitz > Abraham

              ( Assuming Abraham wins )

I was thinking about someone like Bika but he's a dangerous, dirty opponent. Don't think he'll fight Froch and he's sparred with the Dirrell's before, Pavlik would be a good opponent after several more top fights. Balzsay holds the regular WBA SMW title.

Agree with D-MiZe, got a big concern with how he marks up in fights. Reminds me a bit of Hatton.

Fun fight though, and job done considering his inactivity. The ginger ninja needs to keep progressing before he sells me on taking a world strap.

Andre Dirrel toyed with George in sparring and did whatever he wanted

Even if they both have world titles at some point I think he'll stay away from him

                    Courtesy of George Groves;

                    Dirrell on Groves:

Groves has great talent, excellent ring generalship and he’s very determined. I wish him all the best. Good power, ok speed. Not enough head movement, but it will come in time.
