  • June 16th Quigg Vs Munroe

The fight has been finalised, here for details.
The only thing that struck me as a little odd the venue. Machester velodrome.... can they take the step banked cycling track out or what!?
Wouldn't mind going to watch this one.

i've thought Munroe has been going downhill for a while now (didnt see his most recent 1 rd blowout though) but its a great fight for Quigg at this stage. Quigg should win this one and be recognised as the #1 British fighter in the division.

I like Frampton but Quigg is seriously out doing him competition wise atm.

What version of Munroe is prime?

Munroe is a tough proposition for Quigg, he's still very capable and should be looking at trying to contend for a world title again. It's a great fight but I think (hope) Quigg has enough to beat Munroe.

well its not the one who fought on the Khan McCloskey undercard, and his fight after that was pretty unspectacular too.

I think he lost a bit of hunger after losing a title shot and going on to fight on undercards.

Maybe this fight will motivate him as its a much bigger fight with a lot more hype (well im sure it will have a bit closer to the time)

I saw his fight against Miyagi, he never got out of first gear and was happy to just get the rounds in. Definitely looks like he wasn't focused in his past few fights but I think he'll want to beat Quigg.

i cant remember any details about that fight, other than thinking it was a bit boring and Munroe had lost a lot of intensity. It must have been pretty forgettable!

im watching his last fight now

He just seemed content to box him with no real urge at all. I reckon he could've got the Jap out of there had he chose to, don't know why he didn't?

well his last fight didnt really tell me much, apart from reminding me he's huge for the weight. Easy win against a guy who shouldnt have been in the same ring as him.

Dunno why he didnt, maybe he had a bet on that he'd win on points!

I'd like to see Munroe really step it up and get back in the world picture. At this moment though, i see nothing but a Quigg victory.

I've really become a big fan of the lad in the past 12-18 months, and i think domestically he's the best at the weight. He's proved more than Frampton, and with the decline of Booth, a Munroe victory would lead to big things this year.
