  • Tyson Fury vs. Seth Mitchell/Chris Arreola St. Paddy's Day 2013 @ MSG!

What do you guys think? I know a lot of people are VERY harsh on Fury. . . I think he's improved immensely since he uppercutted himself in the face.

He's still a little awkward and clumsy looking at times, but he's really starting to learn how to dictate range, and find home with that straight right hand. He can hide it very well behind the jab. . . Not to mention he can actually slip some punches, and catch head shots with his gloves, and body shots with his elbows (Chisora fight). . . He did look TOO VULNERABLE against that overhand right in his last fight, though. Not to mention his heart and chin (even though he got KD'd) are pretty solid. He also has good stamina, as evinced by his total punch output against CHisora over 12 rounds.

I think either of these fights would be great. . . If it's Mitchell vs. Fury, about another year's time and they should both improve even more.

I think Mitchell has good speed and power, and decent fundamental boxing skills. I don't think he's anything special, though. Obviously he looks a lot more sound and fluid than Fury . .

Either way, these fights have FIREWORKS written all over them!

    THOUGHTS?!?!

I don't think Fury has improved for a while and looked poor in his two fights. He still doesn't have a proper trainer from what I hear so that explains a lot.

Mitchell looked good against Ibragimov, that was an impressive performance. I'd pick him at this point.

Mitchell or Arreola for me. I just don't think Fury has what it takes to go all the way in the division. Maybe if he gets a regular trainer who can actually have the time to mould him into a championship fighter and iron out his flaws, they we might have a top heavyweight on our hands.

The Pjakic fight really annoyed me. It was shaping up to be a proper action-filled contest. Fury had been dropped, then the following round Pjakic gets dropped. Pjakic is still throwing punches and isn't even out on his feet, yet the referee stepped in at the first hint he got.

In my opinion he is being managed very carefully. This is absolutely fine, they know their fighter's limits and he is probably Mick Hennessey's prized promotional draw with the Channel 5 television deal.

However, there will come a point where he is gonna have to step in with the likes of Seth Mitchell or Chris Arreola to propel himself towards a title shot. David Price would have been good. In my opinion Fury would have lost, but that is no matter, he is still young and would have plenty of time to put any defeat in the past. The Klitschko's might just give him a shot for the hell of it, but I can't see how is gonna win that by fighting guys similar to those he already has on his resume.

yeah i'd like to see fury v mitchell - i'd have mitchell winning - he'd want to make sure fury doesn't have one of these ****head refs in is corner though or he'd get tkoed the minute fury landed a punch
