Why do you assume Haye-Chagaev would be a snoozefest?
It could quite possibly prove a more exciting fight than this one.
Indeed. At least Chaggers comes to fight, and will actually throw punches in there. On the other hand, Haye-Harrison could most likely end up being a worse letdown than Haye-Maccarinelli.

Each to their own, i respect your opinions, but I think audley would let it all hang out, this is his ONLY chance, Chagaev on the other hand would probably try to outpoint Haye, and no offence to the man but i dont see him bringing much more than Ruiz did and that was against Haye who had no sparring.
at least audley has a big size advantage, can really punch and is in last chance saloon

But he's had plenty of opportunities to let it all hang out, and he very nearly ended his own career by doing naff-all against Sprott until the dying seconds of that twelfth round. Yes, a title fight with Haye would be the crowning achievement of his entire life and should by rights spurn him on to go for it, but that notion alone can't be relied upon as an indicator of him actually coming to fight this time - not with his track record.

As Tunney mentioned in the other topic, Ruiz is nearly 40 and Chagaev is barely in his 30s. He's prime, and was the first to beat Valuev (in a far more convincing fashion than Haye). I've gone into detail many times before about how Haye needlessly gives up some of his size, and doesn't do much at all besides potshot and throw the occasional looper. As a result, even Ruiz managed to get up close and **** him some.
The thing about a Haye-Harrison fight is that, if one takes the time to look at both their styles, it doesn't actually have the makings of an exciting fight because both guys are naturally gunshy. I know it's popular opinion to say Haye is hugely entertaining, but he really isn't - at times he almost looks as scared as Harrison to throw anything. Neither of them are going to make it a war in there.
Now, if it were Chagaev getting the shot, he'd be constantly coming forward and making Haye work. Even against Wladimir he dared to step forward and push his way in - which obviously didn't work - but he tried. Haye backpedalled all night against Valuev and Ruiz, and Harrison is petrified to press any kind of offence, so what do you think we'd end up with? A pair of tense, gunshy eejits playing a chess game with rockets in their pockets. "Just hit 'im, for fuck's sake!", you'll all be shouting.
And as I've said before, for people to compare this to a previous all-British title fight like Lennox-Bruno (which was a real, legit HW title fight with 2 excellent world class boxers) is utter sacrilege. Make no mistake about it. This potential farce of a match-up should never, ever be uttered in the same breath as that wonderful winter's night in '93.
but if haye fights chagaev it wont do well on tv, most people will stream it.
and if haye wins it will be "chagaev was ruined by wlad, chagaev is disease ridden (hep) it was a bad style matchup, chagaev hasnt beaten anyone good in years.
basically he doesnt get credit either way so imo go for the higher payday.
i know you say forget the british thing, but its there, the fight will be huge and he can fight chagaev afterwards if he wants, the harrison oppertunity will soon be gone imo.
