  • ESPN+SKY+PRIMETIMELIVE Boxing coverage

Whats going on with this lot, things seem to be improving slightly.....

ESPN have Live Boxing on at 3am tomorrow, only the 2nd live Boxing card they will have shown live, first one was a junior card!
I don't see why they can't show this live every week, it's on ESPN stateside, so what costs is it adding just streaming it for the UK people?
Just hope it's not a one off.

SKY seem to be making more of a effort this year, hopefully they pick up a few of the HBO cards, especially since the planned Berto vs Mosley cancelled, surelt hey pick up the Clottey & Klitschko fights?

Sky will no doubt have 2 Haye, 2 Khan & at least 1 Hatton PPV events, so they should throw some stateside Boxing our way also.....

PRIMETIMELIVE is the real hope, when i e-mail them towards end of last year asking if they had plans to pick up other fights other than Super Six, but heard nothing since and channel has shown nothing for months, yet still on air.
No reason why they can't do a deal with few of Boxing networks stateside, hope they have Super Six coverage anyway.

Not sure why Eurosport don't pick up a few more cards, i like there coverage, but they pick up the worse Boxing around!

Hopefully the MSK channel slots on SKY, are actually true that Setanta will relaunch over here, if so they will defo pick up Boxing again.

Yeah I reckon it could be a better year for boxing this year, even though we had Setanta for the first 6 months of last year, the last 6 months were pretty dire.

Hopefully this year Sky will show the super fights in Pacquiao-Clottey and Mayweather-Mosley as well as the Haye and Khan fights and hopefully as they have both signed with Golden Boy and should be featured on HBO, I hope we get the full Golden Boy/HBO card's on the PPV's so hopefully we get added extra's for our £15 like the Hopkins-Jones fight on the Haye-Ruiz card as they are being shown together on that HBO card I think.

Also with Hatton saying he'll fight again in 2010, that will continue to get boxing into the media as he's still the biggest star in British Boxing. Plus the Super Six on Primetime kicks of again in March with Dirrell-Abraham and the doubleheader of Froch-Kessler and Ward-Green in April.

I have a friend who works for Sky on the corporate side and there are some rumblings that Setanta might be back but with a very limited schedule. As far as Sky goes, they have a deal with Dibella promotions and K2 promotions, so any of those fights will always be on Sky, sometimes with the K2 fights we might get the fight the next day though. Sky will also show any fight involving Mayweather and Pacqiuao so expect Pac-Clottey and May-Mosley (if signed to be on).

Primetime live will only be showing the Super 6 fights and its buildup wth Fightcamp 360 and nothing more as far as I know.

Maybe they might show fights but I seriously doubt it, the Super 6 PPV fights they show aren't exactly doing big numbers, Primetime also do no commercials so I don't see how they'll have the funds to show any fights tbh. But I hope they surprise and come through, cuz since Setanta has gone bust its been weak.
