That a senior poster has to say this in unfortunately IMO. It says a lot about the tone on BS, and how newcommers are treated.

Me too mate. I think the guy has amazing skills and its a shame hes gone, but as Reed says, he just got bored, probably sick of the lack of credit he got as well as the politics of the sport....Its a little disappointing really because his legacy isnt secure at all, he could have been top 5 of all time IMO..

Oh, just a note about u being new - Welcome to start with And watch out for some posters, there are some real idiots here, just try not to get involved in any ****** arguments, its not worth it. You seem really interested in the sport and opinions of other people, keep asking questions, good posters like myself and Reed wont mind having a decent convo with u....

Thanks man.. I have always kind of found it weird though the relationship with him and his father. Isn't mayweather sr. training Hatton right now? I mean they obviously had a serious falling out, but I find it odd they could never get over it. In your guys opinion who is the better trainer roger mayweather or mayweather sr?

Or is it one of those things the best trainer for the type of boxer and person?
Is the best trainer situational depending on the boxer?

He needs to fight all his peers to become great. I think he is potetially an ATG but not yet as we have not seen him being a throwback like he claims he is. Some **** actually believe he is the best ever which is dumb

Heres the problem with that question. Floyd Sr taught Jr the basics (and that amazing shell defence) and has gone on to do well and train alot of big name fighters, he is well respected. Roger has polished Floyd Jr and took him to P4P best but also employed that "safely first" attitude, alot of people dont like that. Roger hasnt really trained anyone else (correct me if i m wrong everyone) and is only seen as a success because of Floyd Jr....Floyd Jr is a natural and its hard to say how much credit you can really give Roger for improving him, if you notice the cornering in some Floyd Jr fights Roger doesnt usually say to much, and when he does all Floyd Jr says a "Yeah, Yeah"...Floyd usually knows what hes doing, Roger is there in the corner to keep him motivated, not so much to repeat tactics

Thats makes a lot of sense. I have noticed that he really doesn't say too much in the corner. So, Floyd Sr does seem to be a better trainer, yet Roger is the better trainer for Floyd, because he provides that motivated support?

I think Roger is a good trainer in his own right as well, he does what he needs to do, and behind the scenes he probably does do a good job coming up with game plans etc..but the thing with Floyd is that he needs people around him to keep telling him he is god, he seems to have a very shaky ego..

Brilliant. I don;'t think we even seen him to his full potential either. he has something that makes you think he could bring an extra 20% out of him. probaly the best of our generation.
