It does look like Graham Earl now.

This is a very risky fight for Khan at this stage of his career but.....we will then finally be able to truly judge his potential.

Im not a hater. I like Kahn. His next 4 fights could possibly be

      Earl
      Murray
      Thaxton
      Mitchell

If he beats all these everone will have to admit his quality.
Maybee after these he shold go for that ausie who battered Earl.

****in hell i should be a promoter.

most people do hate the way the media has hyped him up and thats fair enough.

i was really targeting the posters who hate on the lad for his level of competition without saying who they want to see him in with... welter skelter and southpaw stinger spring to mind

It just pisses me off with the coverage he gets. He was so famous in Britain after about his 10th fight.

Then you get people like Kelly Pavlik. He was 31-0 (28) before 80% of people even knew who he was.

If Khan beats Earl or Thaxton then I'll start respecting him a bit more but whilst Frank Warren is sticking him in the ring with these bums who don't even punch back and then Khan gets ****y when he beats them i wont.

i think this is the first time ever that a boxer has had every fight aired live on prime time tv. (or did audley get all his early ones shown?)

so it is annoying the amount of exposure he has had. not really his fault though, because if any of us were in the same position we'd be laughing all the way to the bank, much like amir is.

and the situation in america is completely different. theres much more competition between prospects and no-one is going to get hyped up on a national level in the same way khan is until they've had more than a dozen fights. i don't think winning a medal in the olympics is as much a deal for americans than it is for the british.

I think you have hit the nail on the head, when Khan was fighting in the Olympic final millions tuned in simply because of the reaction of the media to a 17 year old kid being in that position. Other countries primarily the States always have fighters in Olympic finals therefore its no big deal.

As its rare for us, Harrison and Khan received huge deals to televise all their fights and here we are......

Harrison quickly understood the potential in protecting his 'brand' and stuttered his way through his fights hand picking opponents until it came to the crunch and he had to fight a decent one (then the bubble burst)

Khan's career is similar but he has the luxury of being able to take his time due to his age, the surprising thing for me is that he has already fought for titles and that he is looking to fight Earl or Thaxton etc which is a huge gamble.

I think Khan gets a rough ride because he is what he is because of the British public, the guy is 20 years of age and is expected to be the finished article simply because of the hype around him.

Worse case scenario is that he will turn out to be over hyped and disappear but who will have the last laugh, after all he is already a millionaire so.......

I think Earl is another step up, even though he took a battling againt Katsidis.
He could be danger for Kahn as he knocked Katsidis down when everyone thought it was over.

if he fights and beats earl then im 100 percent backing Amir Khan and if he beats Earl he would shoot up the rankings by a couple of places.
