Thought this was an interesting question. If you had to show someone who didnt like/watch boxing one fight to try and persuade them to be a fan what would it be? Would it be a modern day fight, a classic? What weight class would you choose and why? I think I would show them an Ali fight for sure, not sure which he had so many wars. Maybe Hearns vs Leonard, just because I like that fight alot personaly.
- -If they don't watch boxing, a long fight or a brutal KO is a NYET!
I'd show a mid rounds result of strongly contrasting scientific fighters with good ebb and flow resulting in a dramatic clean lights out KO.
Maybe the Paul Williams/Sergio Martinez rematch.
Canelo/Khan or Cottos older brother who proved problematic in the beginning that he KOed mid rds as a 19 yr old kid.
The Foreman/ Frazier rematch where Joe changed his style to last mid rds.
AJ/Wlad an excellent example of old lion passing the pride to the new lion after a fight for the ages has that history angle for those buffs.

well put it this way the reason why I got into boxing and found my boxing hero was because of September the 16th 1981.
I am from the U.K. and we use to have a sports programme called midweek sports special and on the Wednesday the night before the fight they had a Las Vegas preview of the fight which I watched and felt drawn to it.
On the Thursday morning I was getting ready for school and my dad had the radio on and then I heard on the radio that sugar ray came from behind to stop hearns in a thrilling fight and I went to school so happen.
Thursday night the fight was replayed on ITV quite late and my father sent me to bed and for an hour I begged my dad please can I watch the fight and he kept saying no go to sleep.....just as I heard the programme starting my dad called out and said come down and watch it then son.....I was 10 years old and this fight blew me away and was the start to many a great night with the sport of boxing both watching and inside the ring
I would say
leonard hearns 1
Hagler vs Hearns
Chavez vs Taylor
Pryor vs Arguello 1
Barrera vs morales 1
These fights I would say would have his attention

Leonard vs. Hearns 1? That's a hell of a first fight. I believe mine was Leonard/Hagler followed by Mike McCallum's KO of Donald Curry, both on HBO. Was mostly Tyson and Holyfield fights for me after that, followed by some Chavez, De La Hoya, Whitaker and later Barrera, Kelley.

I know mate and I was only 10 ....I had my first pair of boxing gloves when I was about 8 and me and my brother who was 3 years older than me ..we use to beat the granny out of eachother and I would never give in....in the end my mum had to hide them away as it was quite brutal lol
The gloves were given to me by an ex British champion but I never watched boxing really until I watched that brilliant fight and it stayed with me till this day...yours Leonard’s vs hagler was something i wished for from the day Leonard first retired in 1982.
The next mega fight I really remember from Vegas was when Larry Holmes faced Gerry cooney in 1982
