If Mike didn't go to jail in 1992 what changes in his career?

To say Holyfield would win is a reasonable assumption, but to say Tyson would never beat either of those two "ever" is ridiculous. Holyfield is one of my favourite boxers, but the Tyson he fought was a broken man, that was obvious by his general demeanor - there was no fire or intensity in his eyes, his shoulders were slumped, he was being fleeced left, right and centre and his legal troubles would have cemented any man in bed, let alone step into a ring. In fact, I would go far as to say he was way more motivated by his fight against Roy Jones than he ever was against Holyfield or Buster. He was in a bad place and even Holyfield knows he caught Tyson at the right time. -
Wilders list? LMFAO. Tyson's beaten more hall of famers than Wilder has world champions.Leave a comment:

The thing is though his biggest fans act like he was beating killers. Wilder's list of victims read stronger than Tyson's, and I'd pick Wilder to beat Douglas handily ten times out of ten.Leave a comment:

Should one then assume there were no A level fighters around - he fought everyone avaiable - Spinks did prove himself against HWs - IMO you are being too harsh.Leave a comment:

It would have been pretty much the same. He's the type of fighter who looks great vs C-Level HW's, or lower division guys like Spinks, but when he moved up to B level in Douglas, he came up short. Outboxed, outfoxed, outgunned.Leave a comment:

Anyone except James Douglas I guess.
Tyson never beat great fighters in their prime. He did not have the ability to dig deep and overcome adversity, and he would have to overcome too much against Evander, Lewis, Bowe and even old Foreman.
His style was too limited and flawed, and he was too limited mentally and physically.

Blasted out Michael Spink's inside 1 round, had two back to back wars with Razor Ruddock one of the most fearsome punches of the 90's, completely shut out Tony Tucker.
It is a fairy-tale that Tyson would disappear when faced with resistance.
Alex Stewart gave Evander Holyfield a TWO tough fights, but he was completely and utterly obliterated by Mike Tyson.
Tyson did not just disappear vs Buster Douglas, and he did dig deep in that fight producing a vicious knock down in the later rounds.
BKM, go and practice some grappling you weasel.

Spinks was a great LHW, not HW. He had a couple of decent HW fights but he was no great HW and nobody, even most self concious Tyson fanboys don't try to claim that win much.
Ruddock was a chinny overachiever with a gimmick punch. He beat a couple of leftovers from the 80s and then got destroyed by every HW with a pulse in the 90s.
Not even close to a great win.
Good, but not great.
It is a cold fact that Tyson disappeared when faced with resistance, real resistance. Every single time he faced it.
There is a reason he has never lost a fight without being stopped, and never won a fight he got knocked down in. He doesn't have the heart to beat ATG HW's like Holyfield and Lewis, two gritty bastards who won tough hard grueling fights they were taking beatings in.
Alex Stewart, another puncher with no chin. You ever notice Tyson's pattern on his record? The only punchers he ever faced were chinny. He fought in an era where there were more big punchers with great chins than ever before and after and you know how many of those Tyson faced? 0.0
He was quite content facing mentally weak front runners who were like himself. Such as Bruno, Ruddock and Stewart.
And then Douglas was still hitting him back the next round and where does Tyson end up another round later? Flat on his ass and out.
You mean like the early 20th century boxers and before?
Thanks for suggesting doing something productive. What about you, you God damned man child. Why don't you go watch some more of that cartoon on your avatar. How old are you? Older than me I bet.Leave a comment:
