Calzaghe was a great fighter imo and could have done so much more/ got much more credit, but staying with Warren and staying on home soil for most of his prime years with mostly safe defences of the little regarded at the time WBO belt was such a shame and does hurt his legacy a bit.
Roy Jones had zero reason to come to the UK and realistically the Calzaghe fight was never going to happen over that period under those circumstances .
I still think the late career victories over a vastly under rated Kessler and Hopkins (who proved in the following few years he was far from done despite being 40 at the time) rescue him somewhat and add in he ended it undefeated too which can't be over looked.
FWIW if they had fought when they should i would pick Roy by decision but i think it would have been closer than most would predict.
