Tyson was on a continuous, irreversible, downward spiral from the moment he severed ties with his Catskill boxing roots.

That's what made him special. Shame he let Don King and Robin Givens ruin a good thing.

It's great to see him reconnecting with Billy White now. Too late in the game, but maybe he can at least recapture a little of the old magic for this last run of his career.

In 90s he beat Ruddock twice, lost to Holyfield twice, beat guys like Botha, Bruno, Seldon, Steward, some others. He was probably top 5, but he was not top guy, clearly not.

        - -U wanting links again rather unseemly?

There were a couple more Doc Feel good experimental sedatives released. Not my fault U was zonked out during this era that saw our main AOL mod on the same stuff as Tyson that was widely discussed.

So what stuff was he on? What were these experimental drugs? You made the claim, I'm just asking you so share your wisdom because there is nothing to be found on this except Zoloft..

And maybe I was zonked out because I don't remember any mods from AOL. That place was a free for all that makes NSB look like a Bible study class.

            - -No fault of mine U losing U marbles.

Baseball and boxing forums surpass all that came after. We had John Scully as a regular who briefly brought SRLeonard aboard and Tubsy Lar showed up for a week with a number of old school trainers weighing in, a veritable Boxing 101, 201, and grad school wrapped up in the very same day.

Admittedly rusty in ‘95 he was definitely getting back on track in ‘96.. I think he was rushed back just a little too quick tho after the early 90’s layoff..

I may be in the minority but I thought Giachetti was an excellent choice if it couldn’t have been a Damato school trainer..

Tyson shouldve used Mercer as a Holyfield tune up. Would be one entertaining fight.

Jay Bright was from D'mato's school.

                      - -Tyson signed Mercer to tune up for Lewis who sued to prevent.

They settled out of court with a sweeter cut for Tyson not that he was ever able to hang on the vast sums he generated then.
