I can accept that Byrd was more professional, consistent, and refined than Sanders. So he's a better from that perspective. But Sanders was the greater talent. There's a lot of fighters who'd best Byrd, or at least seriously test him. There's a lot of great fighters who'd suffer the same fate Wlad did against Sanders.

Wlad who had already lost to Purrity and would go on to get stopped by Brewster? Of course Holyfield was a better win. He had only lost to Bowe, who was FAR better than Wlad at those points of their careers. Wlad did improve until Manny Steward helped him perfect his hit and clinch style.

Wlad wasn't at his perfected peak, but he was still a very dangerous and a much better fighter than Holyfield. Holyfield wouldn't have hung on like Wlad did. Definitely not the version of Holyfield that Moorer beat.
