He completely dominated a prime Juan Manuel Marquez at the same weight Marquez KO'd Pacquiao.
He also beat Pacquiao easily. A younger version of the current Pacquiao I might add, who happens to still be elite enough to beat top welterweights like Keith Thurman. And Floyd would have fought Pac even earlier in 2009 if Pac hadn't ducked strict drug testing.
Lastly he handed Canelo Alvarez his only loss to date in a one-sided fight.
If you're being objective you have to admit that's a pretty solid legacy right there. Without even getting into Castillo and Corrales and the other big wins on his resume.
Sorta like Mr IQ never entering a Room with U in it.Comment

I have??? When was that?
No need to lie about me. You have no proof of this because it didn't happen.
You on the other hand have a known posting history that anyone can read through.
As I said, weight played zero role on how JMM vs Floyd played out. Bringing up Gervonta Davis and Vasyl Lomachenko has no effect on me in any way. I've been very vocal about criticizing Davis for not wanting that fight, especially when Floyd was making noise about putting him in there against Lomachenko.Comment

All were very very great fighters.
Johnson, being black and flaunting it, at a time when blacks were hung for staring at a white woman can be put in another category. They don’t make fighters like him any longer.
The other thing regarding Johnson was that promoting a black vs black heavyweight championship bout would not sell to the lay public. Because of this purses were generally not what they were for fighting a white contender. Boxing is a business and Johnson fought where the money was to be made. Also offers to fight Langford as an example, and their were a few, generally fell through.
So it was not that Johnson ducked Langford, Jeanette and McVey in that he was afraid he would lose to them. Johnson was head and shoulders above all three in terms of ability.Comment

Several promoters had fights vs Langford set up only for the bout to fall through. The money was in fighting a white opponent. Other than $ why would Johnson fight anyone?Comment

Jack Johnson imo is probably the most overrated of the 3, he obviously had a massive impact on the sport and is rated high because of so but I don't think his resume lives upto the grandeur of his name, depends on your criteria when rating them of course of which everyones is different.
Mayweather is probably ranked a bit too high for the moment by the masses but for a solid reason, the masses have lived through one of the most skilled boxers ever reign of brilliance, his resume has it's holes here and there but I for one am glad to have seen him from start to finish. Saying that, none of us obviously lived through Johnson's reign but we can look back on his career without tinted glasses and critique his career as it is.
See how Mayweather is rated fairly in 20 or so years, his name is gonna carry a significant weight for people who viewed his career without some ridiculous bias against him as many have, either for how he acted outside of the ring or just because people don't like him.
Ali deserves to be rated as he has, his resume does live upto the height his name has reached, just incredible.Last edited by NChristo-; 07-17-2020, 09:58 PM.Comment

You’re a liar. You have had many of your posts and threads deleted for your anti-semitism, bashing of whites snd Asians, crazy conspiracy theories. It was just a short time ago you and Chollo were bashing ***s on a couple of threads and had your posts deleted. I’ve never said a racist thing on any thread. I post just as many threads and posts bashing whites, so stop trying to turn this into some thing racial. You can collect your 9th place trophy and show yourself to the door.
I've had threads deleted for bring critical of the Rothschilds. And I have also been banned because someone felt criticizing the House of Rothschild was the same as being anti-Semitic.
I don't hate ***s. I just hate that particular criminal family.
In any case...I fail to see how any of that qualifies as "racially charged posts about whites" like you claim? Which I have never been banned for.
Nice try.Comment

Honest question
It’s 2020. Who the hell cares about the Rothchilds?

In order to make more money he had to keep the title. To keep the title he couldn’t risk a loss against the black fighters who had improved quite a bit and settled into their respective primes. It was easier to remain champ and make money by fighting smaller white fighters. Or in one instance, a journeyman level black fighter who was a Dempsey sparring partner.Comment

No. Johnson agreed to fight Langford several times only to see the bout fall through. Predominantly the public was not interested in seeing Johnson fight another black. The excitement that drew the largest crowd was the potential of witnessing a white man defeat Johnson. Johnson was interested in getting his typical purse. Fighting another black he was generally offered much less.
Johnson was head and shoulders better than Langford, Jeanette and McVey.Comment
