Thats my exact point, Styles makes fights, Holyfield would beat Tyson, but Tyson would beat Bowe and Morrer who both beat Holyfield. Morrer beat Holyfield, but lost to Foreman who lost to Holyfield, you see what I'm saying? Esp in the heavyweight division fighters all beat each other up, I would give Liston and Fraizer better chances to beat Tyson than Ali, even tho Ali beat them both, Ali beat Foreman, who beat Fraizer and Nortan and both of them beat Ali

Hard to say...I suspect both fights were fixed. Liston was mob-controlled. A sad fate for a great athlete.

You're trying to say styles make fights.

                No one is dis*****g that.

Can you actually tell me WHY Lewis and Holyfield are bad style match ups for Tyson?

The fights were both su****ious. Liston was said to be out drinking before the first fight. He CLEARLY threw the 2nd.

Ali was still really raw and made mistakes. It's not unimaginable that some hypothetical version of Liston at his best could beat Ali. But Liston was a headcase and fumbled against lesser men than even that version of Ali. Machen and Martin were decent for the time, but would be nobodies in most other eras; certainly there was no confusing them for Gene Tunney. They both survived Liston's fearsome power.

Ali was too confident, too fast, too long, and too strong for Liston. Even Uncle Angelo was impressed by how Ali out-muscled Liston.

It was a lot like Marquez-Mayweather... JMM is more technically sound and had a fearsome punch, but that was inconsequential against a bigger faster man. Sure, detractors will say the fiasco leading up to the fight had a serious impact. But you think any of them would have put money on JMM to beat Floyd at 130?

But at least Marquez was a warrior. Sonny was just a bukly. Liston has been made into a boogey man that he really wasn't. A lot of Ali's confidence was probably owed to seeing Liston for what he was, not what WE "remember" Liston to have been.

Welcome back from your ban Rusty. Did you enjoy it? Looks like you did as you are already working on getting another ‘vacation’ if you catch my drift.

                      Hahahaha!

I was banned? For what? I've been busy helping the kids with school work, now that it's all online. And am not dropping anyone off to activities.

Sorry, but I do your job for you. You suck as a moderator. And you know nothing about Boxing. You tolerate open trolling and thinly-veiled assaults on Boxers and reality.

Clowns like NachoMan, Auntie T and Old LeftHook wouldn't be tolerated on a well-managed self-respecting forum. You don't wanna do your job, fine. I'll rake care of business myself. Did you not have a father to teach you to be a man, to have respect for yourself. Spineless coward.
