I think the bullet was a stray, but I wish Augustus himself could lay hands on him. Apparently he's made a full recovery, thank goodness.

Not a super unknown by any means, but i was always a fan of Angel Manfredy back in the day

Loved Manfredy. He wasn't the best of his era but he was a warrior and rarely in an uneventful fight. I always used Manfredy in one of the boxing video games (maybe HBO Boxing?) and my buddy Rob used Paul Spadafora. When they actually fought for real, I drove up to Philly to watch the fight with Rob. Good times.

Was that Augie Sanchez? He was a fun fighter to watch, had good power but his chin was suspect as I recall. If my memory serves me right (and it may not), he came out to Viva Las Vegas as his ring walk music...

Both retired in the late 80s before coming back in the 90s, and both with similar records, they shoulda fought a fun trilogy for the fans and their purses. Coulda become a splashy fad doing exhibitions with the ref being the 3rd Charlie Brown.

U are correct! Even beat Floyd in the amateurs. Hamed ruined him. The ref let him mug him and he was a fish out of water...
