Would American dominance of boxing in the 70s,80s been different

if Eastern Europeans were allowed to go pro, remember it wasn't until the 90s that they were allowed to

many have argued that American dominance of boxing during the 70s,80s and even 90s would of been different if E. Europeans were allowed to go pro earlier

I don’t know man! The general consensus is that genetically African Americans are just more gifted and talented than white ppl! The only thing the Eastern Europeans really bring to the table is maybe brute strength, maybe higher tolerance for pain and good discipline maybe but a lot of these things come down to the individual. I’m Mexican and I’m just stating what a lot of ppl believe but afraid to admit. As far as the success of the Mexicans I think we’re getting pretty damn close to proving we are the best overall! Until recently they try to say we couldn’t compete till we could produce a decent heavyweight and that really comes down to our ppl genetically being too small for heavyweight usually. But I like to put it like this, if you got a fatboy like Andy Ruiz who is probably rated 3rd or 4th best just imagine how good an in shape heavyweight Mexican will be the next time. Just my opinion not here to offend you white folks

      Uhhhh

      How is this not obvious?

What happened when Ukrainians began competing in combat sports?

Not even that, America stopped bringing in immigrants from Europe and Boxing pretty much died.

Now that you got guys like Lomachenko, Usyk and Fury Boxing is looking great again. Real fighters.

        Hahahaha!

        That's awesome.

Like i said, after WWII America began bringing in the wrong people.

Yes, compared to Mexicans, Blacks are better Boxers. But who's more un athletic than Mexicans?

There's hundreds of millions of people in latin america.... how many pro athletes can you name?

Unless you go to Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay... where they're all or mostly White.

I don't ever remember coaching a Spanish kid, vome to think of it. In fact, i'm pretty sure i had kids j.v. wrestlers who'd kill half the grown men in Messico.

They were able to compete in the 70s and 80s in the amateurs and got washed by guys like foreman fraizer ali.....so that answers your question.

You just stated that Mexicans are the best prize fighters in the world. You make a statement like that you got to expect to be jumped (challenged).

I think this is an interesting 'what if' question but maybe it should be debated as to cultural and economic (opportunity) differences, not on innate racial (supposed) superiority.

I’m not saying we are superior to anyone but I see what your saying.

                  Amateurs only matter so much.

Amateurs are better for non-Whites because it's more about point-scoring and less about violence.

Wrestling is very violent. Eastern Europeans DOMINATED there. Asians and ******s do pretty good too.

Having coached for many years, you take one look at a kid who looks like Ali or Foreman and you know not even to waste your time trying to make a Wrestlerout of him. Just wish him good luck playing Basketball.

That's the reality of High School and Collegiate sports. You NEED to win. So you invest in the kids who yoeld the best returns.

That is not the purpose of high school sports. Winning is not (should not be) important. It is about turning boys into men; to prepare the next generation.

"The Battle of Waterloo was won on the playing fields of Eton." Wellington

All need to be given opportunity to participate and whether or not a high school coach is a winner should never be the measure of his success.

You should be ashamed of yourself for thinking that way.

Oh yea! right, you said "the reality is" -- OK, then make that change, don't go along with it.
