Does the fact Roy Jones Jr. fought juiced out of his mind take away from his legacy?

He was so comfortable juicing that when he suffered only a scare, he completely abandoned his regime. It lead to his demise.

So ******. He could have easily afforded someone knowledgeable to provide proper instruction.

Or gone to JPN and made millions doing exhibitions.

Contaminated supplement. Which is why it was taken off the market, this has already been proven. Did he test positive for anything after? Nope

Steroids. Jones team said it was ripped fuel, but all we know for sure is that he was positive for steroids. This has been proven in several threads in this section.

              This is the latest.

Roid Jones, Jr: The Steroid Scandal Incredibly, as late as the early '00s numerous U.S. commissions were still not even testing boxers for performance enhancing drugs. However, in May 2000 - in an independent pilot drug testing program - Roid Jones, Jr tested 6x over the allowable limit on a T:E ratio test after his light

Don’t bother the ts bias, but read the articles. I myself read the actual articles many years ago with the statements from the athletic commissions, alphabet boys etc. I don’t think you can find the articles online any more as I believe I searched for them subsequently. They are in the link however.

If you are unaware of the story, you will get a revelation. Enjoy your reading.

You seriously think he never used steroids?

                  - -Been at the steroids issue much longer than you I suspect. That don't make me a steroids expert, but...

The Jones testing was a nursery school effort. The Indiana "commish" as I recall the jurisdiction a clown show.

Roy keeping a stable of fighting pitbulls most certainly knew about steroids, but he also passed stringent Olympic testing and always a phenom, so there is no point in his career where he suddenly spiked out of the ordinary.

Barry Bonds steroid experts were stuck in the usual misanthropic physical changes that mean nothing. Being a naturally high testosterone producing male, the might as well been describing me, so I looked further and found it in his stats and was justified a few years later when the BALCO revelations matched my timeline.

Drug testing is a mix of chemistry and alchemy completely nontransparent run by sociopaths for their own benefits and enhancements, not a level playing field. See USADA.

BALCO Vic Conte advises VADA while selling PEDs that pass VADA testing. Damn fine gig for a felon...only in boxing folks!

A ton of fighters are doping though. If it's not Olympic style all year around testing its extremely easy to pass a doping test. Especially back then. It was pretty much just to dupe the public. Since most of the time they just test your testosterone levels, half the reason why boxers are fighting into their old age is because of test injections bringing their lower levels up to "normal"

Don't act like Leonard and Pryor weren't looped on ******* in some of their marquee fights either. You dont just just "stop doing Coke".

I agree with you on all this. On the topic of him turning into a "phenom" when he jumped weight steroids probably benefitted him
