Post-WWII and Pre-VADA Boxing was in the Dark Ages. It collected the rubbish which other sports didn't want.
I grew up where Moorer was from. Namath, Marino, and Montana are from there, too. See the disparity?
People didn't care about Boxing then because Clemmons was much more impressive on the mound than anything in the ring. Bonds
and McGuire had the nation captivated.
Things are getting better now. Loma, Fury, Usyk, the Klitchkos... the sport's making a comeback.
